Based on my experience, hunger is more psychological than physical but I have experienced both types of hunger.

I guessing You guys didn't watch the video? That's ok, we know most of it anyway. I believe the hunger thing is more of an individual thing. I get it can be psychological. But what if You're almost passing out or running out of gas? Is that psychological? All though the video was about can You lose weight without being hungry.

When I was a work in process two years ago reclaiming my middle-age man leanness and working with about a 500 calories daily deficit, I ate a ton of potatoes. I bought the Yukon Gold variety in 5-lb. bags from Trader Joe's and would boil them and then eat them naked. I kept inventory of boiled ones in the refrigerator and would take four to work and eat then cold. My math told me four of them were 440 calories. Don't eat many nowadays but if I ever needed a 30-day fix to chisel a few lbs., I'd do what I did two years ago to get the job done.

Can't stand the taste of white potatoes. Use to throw up as a kid when I was forced to eat boiled or mashed potatoes. I do love sweet potatoes.

I found that as I've gotten older hunger is tough to ignore. I do agree with him that when I start to eat - especially after about 12-15 hours of no food, that I have a difficult time getting satisfied. I want to eat everything, so for me portion control is key as I get bloated/stuffed. When I don't eat I can work and not get tired (out of gas) as long as I have fluids. Water with lemon is my choice in hot weather - gotta put the sweat back in. My protein intake decreases in the hot weather as I drink more and eat more fruits and veggies. They are lighter and give me vitamins and minerals for the sweat. When working or working out I do not feel hungry ever. For me, most of hunger is psychological as I tend to visit the pantry when home with nothing to do. Passing out from lack of energy can mean low glycemic (blood sugar) as well. It is good to have a nutrition bar or drink handy for those times as a just in case.

To lose fat, I always had to deprive myself and felt hunger at times. I've gotten that 'hunger headache' many times and pushed through ignoring it until it went away. I believe dieting like he is saying for an event should not be done all the time, have to cycle it in to avoid degrading metabolism. I went to college with a girl who was eating only an apple a day and water to lose weight. She was 5'5" and about 158 and got to where she could not lose an ounce at 19 years old. I've seen a number of folks (I think Mike O'Hearn) say to increase calories to spark the metabolism and lose weight, but that seems to go hand in hand with a much higher protein consumption.

I fast on a frequent basis. It shrunk my stomach size. I added slow carbs to the menu plan which curb hunger pangs because it keeps the blood sugar steady. If I'm in a pickle & need to curb my food pangs I take a spoon of MCT oil. MCT is metabolized like sugar but has the intrinsic benefits of fat.

But, I accepted by those around me it was a given that the cause of me eating less was stomach shrinkage. The current topic was about curbing hunger not fat loss. I looked like u on a good day before my accident. I was 84kg before my accident & am now 71kg. I lost alot of muscle of which I'm sure my injuries & therapeutic fasting didn't help. I now do short term intermittent fasting these days. OMAD on Sunday thru Thursdays. 48 hour fasts on the weekend. I am vibrant, vivid & lucid with increased work capacity. I'm 110 over 70 after work. I need less sleep. I feel cock strong but look like a gay Bruce Lee. Hope that helps.

(rofl) That's funny. You never measured Your waist? I used to be 86cm. Now I'm a 74cm waistline. I hardly bother measuring as rule. It's how I look in the mirror that counts to me. Right now, I'm in the Ethiopian bodybuilder class. Bleh.
