That's a beautiful shade tree. I could be wrong but the American Elm was developed in Princeton New Jersey about a 20-minute ride from where I live. They have line of Elms trees going down Wasington Rd. in Princeton we've been cutting down slowly but surely because they catch Dutch Elm diease. Your tree is resistant to Dutch Elm's diease. It's going to look nice when they're done Bruce.

The tree looks good Bruce!
Stuke, I've been doing tree work for around 25 years. I'm not a climber, I do the groundwork.

The tree looks good Bruce! Stuke, I've been doing tree work for around 25 years. I'm not a climber, I do the groundwork. Nice! I like trees. That would explain the active job you mention. A small tree anecdote: being a big fan of redwoods, I grew a coast redwood from seed. I realised when it gotvto 6' in the pot that it was goong to be too big for the small garden and looked for a home for it. The Foreztry Commission said the woild take it and added mamy miles to a job to come and collect it, planting it 50 miles away or so on the edge of a forest.

When we lived in California, we planted 3 redwoods in a grouping. Those suckers grow fast!

Nothing but kitty litter for miles around where I live but I can kick it with the dolphins in my lagoon.

I always wanted to see one of those big redwoods in person.
Macky, that bamboo spreads like wild fire.

Blue Spruces take forever to grow. We planted one in our back yard and it took 5 years before it even began to grow. We've also planted a maple tree in our back yard just so we could have a little bit of New England in the Fall. There aren't very many maple trees around here.

TA-DAAAAAAAAH! (not to be confused with the tree behind us) I'm confused about the tree behind you. Maybe it's the angle, but I'm confused why they didn't clean up that one side along with the bottom and the 'droopy' limb ?...
