These are fun, at least for me. Haven't used one in a while but I can put this in my basement with no problem.

I did some amateur boxing and I used everything. This one was frustrating to begin with because of the random movements it makes, but it was a bag I got more into. I think I will look up online how to make one like he said.

I use mine or my heavy bag in the garage. I have to hang either up and take them down each time I use them. The double end bag can be both an excellent conditioning AND coordination workout. I don't use them in the depths of Summer now, but I can string the double end bag between a pull up bar that's upstairs and a kettlebell on the floor. Works great. I can't circle it like when it's in the garage but it's way better than nothing.

I like punching. This looks like fun. I guess I'm doing OK without a heavy bag, but I still think it would be cool to have one. I've not been warming up with punches though, now that I have my chains to rattle. That reminds me, I'm going to post something new (to me) in the battle rope thread.

Years ago when I was training in the martial arts, I had a 60-lb. Everlast heavy bag hanging in my garage. We lived out in the country so the garage door was often left open and it was the house entry point for many. I can't count the number of times, a friend or relative (even my Dad once) entered this way with blood on their knuckles. They had taken a slug at the heavy bag and didn't throw a good punch, scraping the bag with their knuckles and causing them to bleed. I'd always laugh when they entered the house with their bloody knuckles.
Back when I was it to it, my hands and knuckles were conditioned and I could slug it out on the heavy bag for multiple rounds with my hands naked. If I did that now, it would be a different story.
Never owned a double end bag. Maybe I'll get one. The eye to hand coordination and reflex work would be fun and good. I used to play a good game of table tennis but haven't done so for years. With age and lack of work, I'm sure my introductory session on the double end bag would earn me a lame badge.

My first DE bag was an old soccer ball tied inside an old basketball net and strung up with one bungee cord attached to a hook in the garage ceiling and another to a weight plate on the floor. Something like this also works well:

We called them floor to ceiling speed balls when I was younger here in England. Maybe they are still called that.
