I finally found JB's Boogie which I wanted to present in the first place. The thing about boogie woogie is the left hand constantly pounding out that 8-to-the-bar rhythm without let up from start to finish, apart from the odd left hand pause while the next phrase is set up by the right. JB knocks all this out for the best part of 3:50 without a hitch, playing a style of piano boogie which reminds me of the early rock 'n' roll guitar vamp of Chuck Berry, although faster in the true boogie pace.

macky Check this out .... Good stuff all right ! There's so much youtube on piano BW these days, artists, tutorials, everything one needs to play the style. The one thing else you need, plenty of endurance. When the lockdowns are off I play at the old folks home for an hour on Saturday mornings, mainly stride and a few boogie numbers. About twenty six-seven tunes. I'm stuffed afterwards, I can tell you

I had to get up and chimp dance!

From their Today album "Don't Turn Around", this song reached #32 on the R&B chart in 1972...

When musical artists produced works of ART!
There is a quality to this music that we have not had for a while. It's timeless really, it can be enjoyed decades later, like good music should be.
