To be honest, I can't say I go with that, Mags. Talking like that over an easy laid-down beat isn't music. It's just rhythmic profanity. Just my opinion, though, that's all. Between you and me, I really posted that video as more of a sarcastic political statement... Cue the Twilight Zone music: Imagine a country that’s now fully run by lunatic ‘leftists’, where something like that rap video is perfectly ok and un-censored, and any citizen of any age can have free access to it, yet Dr. Seuss books are banned because they’re “racist”, certain cartoons will have viewing age restrictions slapped on them because they’re now considered “too violent”, and major corporations go on a kooky Human Resources campaign instructing their Caucasian employees to be “less white”... I know what you're saying, M8 and I agree up to a point. But the "leftist" thing is only another diversion for thinkers and commentators to focus on. What's happening on the "everyday" level is reaction against "white-dominated" "Christian-and-guns" based rampant Nationalism that sees someone like the last president as some kind of saviour for everything that's wrong in the US. Btw, I'm not saying Biden's the answer either, because the fundamental problem lays beyond partisan politics. And I'm not for one moment saying that's confined only to the US, but in "your" country the extremes are everywhere, and promoted through the MSM (BOTH "left" and "right") according to what the corporate-owned (and CIA-influenced) media want you to argue about next. I'll say it again. The PTB that run the country are neither left or right, they are simply the Ones That Run The Show. Their machinations are running the US down to bankruptcy though their power-mad greed, and the longer The People keep on arguing about the "leftists" or the "white supremacists" the closer America sinks to just another country of the world. Or worse. You had a Prez that pretty much abandoned the US allies on many fronts, and as you well know, if the US isn't policing the world, then others will step in. Already, the US is finished in Asia. China owns everything. The Russians have infiltrated the US systems and influenced elections, the Mexican cartels run their country and are spreading through the world. Their influence is notable here with that one drug that doesn't have to be grown, Methamphetamine. China is well-established in the South Seas, influencing island nations by lending impossible loans. And buying up defunct companies throughout South America. Trump's trade restrictions on China mean nothing, China just keeps on trading as though nothing is going on. America has outsourced its industrial might to China and other countries. The only thing left is the American dollar which by fiat global regard is still "solvent" even though it's not being accepted as viable currency in some quarters. But the total US debt is climbing by the trillion as we speak, and is well over two thirds of the total country's valuation. What remains of the US is simply a financial shell, owned by a tiny minority whose takeover of the US govt and its democratic system commits treason on a daily scale. And The People are still down the bottom, arguing and pointing the fingers at each other for being "leftist" or "right-wing" whatever.

I have to disagree Macky, the ongoing and persistent onslaught of social 'woke-ism' in the USA, emanating from the "fake news" media, to the board rooms of major corporations like Coca Cola, and to the 'big tech' and social media companies that are seemingly in control of it all, is all part of the greater ‘leftist’ agenda. And for anyone on the fence about which side they're on: When was the last time in history that the group fighting to ban books and censor speech were the ‘good guys'?...I’ll wait

And for anyone on the fence about which side they're on: When was the last time in history that the group fighting to ban books and censor speech were the ‘good guys'?...I’ll wait Of course, Mags. Disagreement provides the opportunity to iron things out and clarify serious questions that plague our societies today, and actually have for decades. Social "wok-ism' is only another fad designed to make its opponents react against it, once they've heard enough denigrating and demeaning language, especially put to music, which I despise actually. Music is more than continued-beat "fuck-hoes and suck my dickism". The people who turn that rubbish out are simply degenerates, nothing more. I don't care what colour they are. You're right though in one sense. The "fake news" media (a Trumpism carried on even after his term is over) and the board rooms of corporates, and the CIA that control it all is in its ascendancy as we speak. It always was. I mean, surely you still don't believe that 9-11 was engineered and carried out by the 19 individuals but were never formally identified, do you ? That Pearl Harbour was a complete surprise ? If you do, then that's real Fake News at its most MSM-persuasive. But where I believe you are really misled is that it's all somehow "part of the greater leftist agenda". I'll ask you a question. How come that with successive govts both "left" and "right" over the decades since the late 60's, the scene hasn't changed for the "average" working citizens in our countries ? In fact, it's got worse, hasn't it ? And why ? Because the corporate/"security" services/bankers have long infiltrated "democratically" elected govts and they collectively dictate the play on prime concerns i.e. the maintenance and enhancement of their power and wealth, which INCLUDES THE MSM MEDIA OUTPUT, WHETHER IT IS DEEMED TO BE "LEFT" OR "RIGHT". Have you any other answers to that ? If so, I will certainly be happy to be corrected if they are better than mine. The plain fact of the matter is, the Dem/Rep nonsense is only a charade, and the elections are Showtime for alleged "democracy". Never mind the "fake news". It's all Fake, with a capital "F". " When was the last time in history that the group fighting to ban books and censor speech were the ‘good guys'?...I’ll wait " Given the rubbish going around these days, in some quarters said group ARE the good guys. Like I've said before, there's a fine line between "free speech" and the undermining of national security/decent standards for our children to look up to/education etc.

I'm not sure what your "question" is ?... In one sentence you say things haven't changed for average working citizens and in the next paragraph you're saying it's gotten worse (?)...
Truthfully I'm usually too busy out there earning a living, and just don't have the energy to keep up with what goes on in New Zealand politics and/or social dictates. To me it seems that as far as the USA goes you're on the outside looking in, so let me ask you a few clear questions:
Did your dictator...ummm...I mean 'president' go on an executive order rampage as soon as he got into office, most of which he had no clue what he was signing, just following orders mandated by the leaders of the very 'left' political party he's supposedly the head of ?
Did your incompetent 'leader' sign into law what I consider a bunch of pure 'leftist' social absurdities, and by one in particular I'm referring to allowing so called 'trans' MALES to legally compete in girls/womens sports ?
I could go on and on with this...

"I'm not sure what your "question" is ?... In one sentence you say things haven't changed for average working citizens and in the next paragraph you're saying it's gotten worse (?)."
You have seen my tirades re off-shoring jobs from both "your" country and "mine". That hasn't changed (the corporate govt-allowed policy ), and has only gotten worse over the years. There are some jobs which probably will not be threatened any time soon, and certainly those essential jobs such as Matey had for over 20 years.
But the manufacturing jobs which are the base of any modern society have all but disappeared overseas to China, Mexico, and India. 5m jobs in the US this century (in manufacturing alone), and growing. That means in some cases a mortgagee sale of the family home etc. It certainly affects more than just one person whose job has gone west.
That is nothing less than corporate plundering of the Homeland. The CIA-aided overthrows of various countries around the world have long benefitted the American corporates and their plundering of "lesser" countries, leaving poverty in their wake. Now they are doing it to their "own" countries as well.
Yet still The People seem to accept that as "normal". And when the stats for wealth distribution in the US (for one) are presented, nothing seems to stir anybody's awareness, at least since Occupy Wall Street.
Can't you see that continued outsourcing of US jobs including accounting, receptionists, manufacturing, engineering, computer tech, is in fact aiding the "enemy" ? That it's treason ?
" Did your dictator...ummm...I mean 'president' go on an executive order rampage as soon as he got into office, most of which he had no clue what he was signing, just following orders mandated by the leaders of the very 'left' political party he's supposedly the head of ?"
You don't know that it's entirely "left". If you're talking about re-establishing broken relationships with American military allies, and trading partners, then I say "good job !" America needs them as much as the world needs America. How do you think that America would get on if it broke all ties with its allies and trading partners, given that much of its base industry is gone off-shore, and said partners refused to supply the US, who with less than 5% of the global population, consumes a quarter of the world's resources ?
What do you think that the project For The New American Century was all about ? Global influence in business, hence military as well.
And yes, if your dictator was following orders, then that is normal for American presidents, isn't it ? In fact, that's the reason why the PTB got rid of Trump. And do you think those orders are entirely "left" originated, given that corporates are essentially neither left or right. In fact, if one think about it, corporates are certainly more right than left. They don't care about any social consequences of their plundering.
"Did your incompetent 'leader' sign into law what I consider a bunch of pure 'leftist' social absurdities, and by one in particular I'm referring to allowing so called 'trans' MALES to legally compete in girls/womens sports "
Who cares ? That's only a sideshow to keep SOME people occupied. You may consider them "leftist". Others would simply ignore them as trivial compared to the important things that are happening in America, and consequently the Globe. Sports are only another diversion anyway, promoted and sponsored by Big Money.

Quite a progressive album for the times. Notably shortish tracks to fit in with disc jockey requirements of the day. The electric guitar very well played, one or two licks reminded me of Chuck Berry's stuff. Not surprising, given Berry's influence on rock guitar.
Excellent piano, and I think there's one of your "tin sandwiches" in there, about half way through, Mags. Nice music anyway.

New Zealand. A land of 30 million sheep, 3 million of which think they’re human. Could be, but not quite as many as in the US where a few more than that have the wool permanently pulled over their eyes One of the coolest jazz numbers ever. In 5/4 time, unusual as in time signatures on various others in the Time Out LP
