Stumbled across this video on YouTube and walked away with a couple fitness training nuggets. It's about 12 minutes long so I realize some of you won't want to spend that much time viewing it.
First, "Everything counts." You'll have to catch it in the video which comes early to understand what he means by it. Second, "No such thing as a bad pushup, only bad form." He says this in the context of doing partial range pushups as opposed to full range. They're all good. I know that for me, I'm always paying attention to making sure I have full range or close to full range in the work I do and don't devote enough time to partials or "shorties" as he calls them in the video.
Later in the video, he shares some great life wisdom. Too bad George Floyd and Rayshard Brooks didn't listen to Rip Right HD; they still might be alive.

Well, I could look like that too if I could work out 8 or 9 days a week I do full range and partials. Both have their merits. Thanks for posting the video.

Well, I could look like that too if I could work out 8 or 9 days a week I do full range and partials. Both have their merits. Thanks for posting the video. I remember doing partials for pull-ups at the end of a volume pull-up workout. I'd max out at the top 1/3 range, rest and then max out at the middle 1/3 range, rest and finally max out at the bottom 1/3 range. I'm not sure what it did for me other than give me a temporary pump which I try to avoid because I find hypertrophy gets in the way of performance. I think I got more bang for my buck doing weighted singles relatively full (yet safe) range for about 8 to 10 singles ramping up the weight for each single and inching higher towards my max and maybe attempt a PR if I felt strong. Then, I'd take the weight off and bang out a max reps set BW only which felt great with no load. All good stuff, we just got to show up and do it. For me, I have zero interest in hypertrophy-based, bodybuilding-type, training. Not my cup of tea although them NY brothers hanging out in the park doing a zillion bar dips, pushups and pull-ups definitely have some serious muscular presence. Good for them. Here was this morning at work. I wouldn't call these partials but they could be better in the full range department. Thing I'm going to start doing weighted bar dips, it's been a while.
