Hey Community I have question regarding Isometric training, when you are using an Isometric training device with a rope connected to a pole on which you stand (I'm sure you know what I mean ). Let's say you would perform an isometric Bicep curl where you hold on to the rope and keep your biceps flexed. But instead of only holding the position you keep the rope tensed and bend your knees. Wouldn't it be possible to perform a full range of motion bicep curl. Because you "force" the bicep muscle fibers to change it`s length. Sorry for my bad english. I hope you still understand what I mean. I just wanted to share this idea because it enables you to perform a full range of motion exercise with this simple piece of equitement. One problem would be the missing possibility to keep the applied force to the rope constant. Feel free to criticize my idea. I want to know if that's a valuable training idea or not Thanks in advance best regards from Germany

Hi Cas9, This is pretty much self-resistance with a rope or isometric strap. When I did self-resistance this was some of my favorite self-resistance for bodybuilding. Not making not outlandish claims but I could get a really good pump with this kind of training and felt like more muscle showed. I thought I got more muscular from it, others may disagree but that's ok, when I used it. I would say experiment to see if it fits Your goals. Here's a couple of old books with examples: shenster.angelfire.com/Training_Manuals/Ropercise.pdfsierraexercise.proboards.com/thread/915/sinkram-courses

If You go about this way of training I would be interested in Your thoughts and results. One thing I will say about it, Your body should feel pretty good as long as You don't overdo it.
