Hi guys
I was just wondering if any of you guys have come across the lone wolf videos on you tube?
He is a marine that takes you through calisthenics, mostly burpees but also other exercises. You can follow along if you want. Earlier I followed along with his 500 burpees routine, I managed to do them all, in fairness he wasn't going flat out. Hope your all keeping well in these strange times.
Keith.

I'm not subscribed to it but I do view his videos once in a while because I follow the burpees action on YouTube. He is definitely one fit person and conducts himself in a classy manner among burpees enthusiasts. I believe we have posted comments on each others videos at least once. His volume is beyond my senior pay grade and the burpees I do have a jump to it. Seems like he does then Navy Seals style and tosses in extra pushups to get some crazy pushup volume in his workouts. I did see his follow along 500 burpees workout but didn't view it. There has been a noticeable uptick in burpees videos on YouTube that I believe is the result of Coronavirus shelter in place. I check out a lot of burpees action on YouTube because they are a current important part of my fitness training cafeteria menu. Moses Cuevas is another burpees beast, but there are several. Burpees King is another burpees junky who posts regularly. You can make burpees tolerable by the time cadence you choose. Not every burpees workout has to be a puking killer.

Yes , I have seen a lot of Lone Wolf and Moses Cuevas videos. They both are in great shape,l really liked the video Lone Wolf did on his diet, a very simple diet, nothing fancy, they both seem like great guys, Pierini, you make a great point about the increase in burpee videos on YouTube since the Coronavirus situation, I have noticed that to, I’m incorporating squat thrusts 2 or 3 times a week into my workouts, I can’t do the jump at the end because of arthritis in my knees and the push up during the burpee bothers my shoulder, so I’ll just do squats thrusts, after my squat thrust workout last week I felt great , I like the quick cardio workout they give me, thanks for the post Keith, and great job to you Pierini , on your squat thrusts workouts too! I have seen your videos on them, there fantastic. Stay cool up there by Sac where you live, it’s a scorcher down here in Pleasanton to.

I don't mind numbers to a point but to much can turn me off. Not talking about burpee numbers. Not saying I'm planning on making burpees a regular but what would You consider a simple cadence? I would probably get distracted by Your seconds cadence, I think it was .08 seconds. When I did stuff like burpees I always tend to do count downs or ups with another exercise.

Michael, I'd say whatever cadence that works for you. One that I've taken a liking to is my walking burpees workout. I'll do 5 burpees EMOM for 30 to 60 minutes. I get some decent volume in and the walking is nice recovery. Did Tabata burpees once, very tough like any Tabata workout. I've done the countdown in the past, including CrossFit's Pukie Brewester, start at 1 go to 15 and then back for a total of 225 burpees. If you time yourself and play beat the clock, you'll understand why it's named Pukie Brewster. Doing another exercise is great because you get burpees relief. I have several I've done that way and in fact, Ross Enamait's Magic 50 is a good example. It's all good, we just got to show up and do the work and hopefully we'll squeeze some fun out of it too.

I’ve got a simple little burpees routine that keeps them manageable. You do 60 in total.
You do ten then set a timer going. Only for ten minutes. You begin by doing step ups until it hits two minutes (I use my stairs). Then you keep the clock running and do another ten burpees. Then immediately back to the step ups. When the clock hits four minutes, another ten burpees. Don’t stop the clock. The faster you get the burpees done the more recovery time doing two ups.
Keep repeating Every two mins until the clock hits ten mins, then finish with your final ten burpees.

I do a couple similar. One is burpees x 5 every minute on the minute, walking for the remainder of the one minute time interval after doing the burpees x 5. It's a longer duration workout that is great is you have a nice walking environment setting. I do mine at a park with lots of trees. It's great but does take a little longer. By the way for others, getting back to Lone Wolf, there's a YouTube video out there of Lone Wolf, Moses Cuevas and Burpee King doing a workout together. That must have taken some effort to make happen. Burpee King and Moses Cuevas are from Southern California. I didn't view the entire video because of duration and after a while it's like watching paint dry on a wall but what I did see showed a burpees solidarity of sorts among them. That was fun to view. I get the biggest kick from those who post a YouTube video that's instructional on how to do a burpee. As if one is needed because there's already at least one bazillion of them on YouTube. Or, the videos where the person has got the gift of gab and blabbers forever until beginning their burpees workout. Then, there are those who are wanna-be acrobats and creative types who get cutesy with their off the beaten path burpees creations. Finally, there are the fashion queens who desire to be larger than life Instagram queens, all dressed and made up like they're getting ready for an online dating photo shoot. It's hilarious. I gravitate towards those videos where the person just does starts the video and gets to burpees work, particularly when I can see and hear the grind they're going through banging out their burpees. Burpess are very humbling. I need a regular serving of burpees humble pie rather than a large serving of ego cake to help me see who I really am, just another middle-age man turd among millions.

I found keeping a rhythm that u can keep pace with & setting a timing parameter did the trick for me. 3 minutes of burpees/1 minute rest, 2 minutes burpees/1 minute rest, 1 minute of burpees. Lather, rinse, repeat (wave training).
