I hurt my left shoulder. Nothing serious, but lateral raises with bands aggravates it. But, I can do Kin Shi-Hai Do shoulder raises without hurting my shoulder. The exercise, in itself, is effective because you get that same pump you do from using bands or weights.

KSHD with 18 reps per exercise: 9 @50% intensity, 6 @75%, & 3 @100%.
I am a believer !

On a more serious note, here's what's helped me with that problem. I lift with the thumb-side of my hand pointed towards the ceiling, and when I get to the top, I rotate my hand so my palm-side faces the floor. Then I cinch up my delts, focusing on them. When I do the KSHD form of this exercise, I face the palms toward the ceiling until I get my arms parallel to the floor. Then I rotate my hands so the palms face downward and raise my arms to maybe a 65-degree angle (or more). I pause at the top and focus on flexing the shoulder muscles for a second or so. Then I come down, focusing on the lats and shoulder blades, keeping palms facing the floor until my arms are parallel to the ground. Then I rotate so my arms face the ceiling and continue down almost all the way, tensing and focusing on the lats.
That keeps my shoulder tendons from getting irritated and inflamed.

Me too. Even though I can never remember the name of Kin Shi-Hai Do or even the letters. For me it is my right shoulder and it was 2 years in January. Almost everything I do continues to aggravate it I can do Kin Shi-Hai Do with only the sound of grinding but no pain. I have always felt that these are a very good joint recovery exercise. I can tense and move through the range of motion without pain. But if I try to do weights or bodyweights, I get a sharp pain at the clicking point and the pain can often last for days. I never experience the aching pain for days after Kin Shi-Hai Do.
I had just given up on being able to fix my shoulder myself and was going for a steroid shot when the virus hit and that was pushed back. But at least I can continue doing what I can until then.

This thread attests to the power of Kin Shi-Hai Do. Everyone is posting on a higher consciousness.
You've really worked out some effective KSHD movements, Alan! Amazing what can be done with this protocol, isn't it? I will try your technique. And so should Bob.

Moving meditation with relaxed breath control
The mind focused without strain on the movement
The measured tension brought to the particular muscles (and bones !) as required
A blend of mind/body/spirit unity at the same time
Such is Kin Shi-Hai Do
The way of the Master...
