...... one thing I do with the rope is isometric. Would that be like tying off a line or pulling a strap down tight? I do stuff like that but that wasn't what I was thinking about. Thinking about it more there is more than one thing that would be isometric. The thing I was thinking about was when pulling on the rope to drop a trunk. After someone makes a notch in the trunk and are doing the back cut, You would be pulling the rope while the back cut was being done. You're keeping constant pressure pulling the rope and nothing is moving. Depending on the size of the tree and how long the back cut takes is the amount of isometric pulling that happens before You eventually pull the trunk over. Another part of my job with ropes that could at times be isometric is lowering limbs. There are different situations that need You to hold the rope so the limb doesn't come down. Just like the pulling of the trunk, there are ways to make it easier but it isn't always an option. Things like taking a wrap, figure 8's, and carabiners.
