There was something similar in a BBC documentary a few days ago, "The Truth About Getting Fit". One of the sections covered something that I have always believed, that is that dance is good for both the body and the mind. A group of people did a test which involved problem solving and their scores were noted. They then did an hour long dance class and did another test. The scores for the second test were generally higher than the first. Basically, dance makes you use your brain, and the more you use it, the better you do in problem solving. In the gym, you just have to do the exercise and count the reps or watch the time. In dance you do the exercise and you have to think about the sequence of steps. So dance and get fitter and smarter. The program is here www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b09qjl7d/the-truth-about-15-getting-fit although I don't think you can watch it outside of the UK.

I specialized in the slow dance during high school dances in my glory days.
