Am ex special forces guy I knew here in the UK once decided to do 1000 reps of puah ups - or press ups as we call them here. He decided on 25 seta of 40 and set about them. This was a man who had done physical things most of us would not even dream of trying to do, but I watched his form worsen the further he got into them, to the point where they really were half reps at best.
Now who am I really to critisize, but to me if it isn't chest touching floor, stiff body and full lockout, it isn't a rep.
As a means of exercise of course, not everyone has to have that full range, but it is tricky ground when you start trying to compete or get your PB. Same with dios also, swen some appalling range of motion in record attempts and the squat thrust comoetition I once saw on tv long ago waa a joke, comoetitors were doing it in socks on a smooth wooden floor, sliding their feet back and forward and evwn then, they were not doing it far.
I say if yiu want to shiw off your capabilies you should be prepared to film it and put it out there.
