popped my right bicep doing DB Clean and Press with 30b bells warming up. I think its the long head that popped loose. My bicep is sagging a bit but its not all balled up down at the elbow. Shit like this makes me want to say the hell with all of it sometimes. Looks like I'm going to schedule an appointment to get it evaluated and just get the surgery done as soon as possible.

Sorry to hear that. I know what you mean about giving in sometimes, currently nursing a couple of muscle strains myself.
I’d recommend some DVR / ISO movements and thinking healing into the muscles and visualizing your future, but this is planet Earth. Hope the surgeon/ physiology therapist gets you healed up quick.

That sounds like a real nuisance, have you hurt it before?

That really sucks and I hope that you're on the mend very soon. Injuries always seem to happen on warmup, which we do to prevent getting hurt. Go figure!

thanks guys. Been reading up on this tear. When the long head has been ruptured from the shoulder there is really no need to repair it other than cosmetic concerns. This worries me not. I'll let it rest this week and then its bodyweight work, iso's and dvr's. All will be fine.
I'm finding what other have said about this tear, my shoulder has felt this good in ages.

That's a bummer jrmeatplow, but a reality in our fitness training journey, particularly if we challenge ourselves with pedal to the metal training like I know you do. The good news is that you have youth on your side and healing occurs quicker. This reminds me when I tore my ACL almost 20 years ago. When it happened, I knew something bad had happened. I remember the doctor telling me that I could choose to not get it fixed and would have to make some modifications to my daily living and fitness training activities. I told him I wanted it fixed because I wanted to get back on my fitness game plan. Had surgery, did the hard physical therapy rehab work and was back on my fitness training pony as if I hadn't missed a beat. Ouchies are blessings, the good news the rest of you is well so look at the injury as an opportunity to work the parts of your body that are stellar. Wishing you the best in your healing and rehab. I'll be privately cheering for you. By the way, how is your Dad doing, doing rehabbed?

I did some light rotator, delt, and bicep work a bit ago. A bit of a cramp in the biceps but I only used albs dumbbells and did 100 reps with them. Just getting some blood flow going.

Take heart. I blew mine out in 2011. Complete detachment of the distal tendon. You've got a couple weeks for sure before the body really starts putting things back together on it's own so no worries about getting surgery with in a couple of days as per my surgeon. I did mine (really stupid story - happened on a bus). I was close to hyper-extending the elbow and the bicep fired to keep that from happening, end of story. It's amazing how little they can take if you get them in the right position. They will probably do some pronation/subination type things to diagnose, but a full diagnosis will be an MRI - the surgeon wants that anyway before he gets in there.
Fully recovered, as strong as ever. Was probably back to full strength in about six months, but took about a year before mentally I felt like going full throttle.
Edit: Now I see yours is the proximal, not distal tendon. Cramping, HELL YES. The surgeon in diagnosis had me twist my hand in a handshake with him. Set the bicep into full cramp. Guess what, when the muscle isn't attached on one end you can't stretch it out to stop the cramp, so you ride it out until it runs out of fuel. I fully think doc thought that might happen and its part of the diagnosis.
