Bruce, I almost tagged out early with my longbow and would have missed getting this decent buck. I was sitting in a thicket the other morning and saw what I though was a big fat doe. It slowly kept making its way towards me and I had two spots that had decent lanes to shoot. The first one I drew back and thought about taking the shot, but I wasn't comfortable with the distance through the brush. I waited and it came in the second opening and I was getting ready to let the arrow fly and it raised its head and I noticed something, it had 2 little antlers about 2 inches long and not much thicker than a pencil.
Now I have the rest of the season to get myself a doe or two.

Congratulations!
If you shot a deer with 2" antlers, who's that in the truck? Did you shoot it with a longbow or with that rifle?

I'm confused. Rifle or bow? 2" antlers?
Anyhow, good work makin' meat!
EDIT: Oh, wait. I think I understand. You shot the one you took and passed on the one with 2" antlers when you were out with your longbow?
