I like training alone because I can get in there and git 'er done first thing in the morning. Don't have to spend all that time getting dressed, driving (walking, riding) to a gym, possibly having to wait for available equipment, and then getting back home again. I have everything I need in my workout room in the basement, and if there's something else I decide I might like to have, 9 times out of 10 I can just make it.

I do not need any equipment, excluding two belts and T stick. So, I train alone on mornings. No distractions.

Bruce, I'm the same as You. I have everything I need in my basement. I figured what Whiffet said about everyone here being self-motivated and training alone. That's why I have a hard time when people ask me about exercise and what I do. Most people need the social part of gyms. I don't but if I lived by some of the guys here I'd be willing to try their training. You never know until You try something.

Definitely alone, chi kung, isometrics, whatever.
The magic is self-manufactured according to personal need and desire. Doesn't mean we won't help others when required, only that none of us here needs anyone else to get started on a workout, or push us during.
The 'togetherness' is later, swapping notes on here and other forums.

Got a bar up in my penthouse, it never does bother me, ain't no poodle, no pony, just a little ez-curlee, and I train alone, Yeah, all by myself You know when I train alone, I prefer to be by myself.
I will say I think I made better progress when I was younger training with a couple of other serious guys than I would have alone. I had the benefit of spotter and the competition of not wanting my friends to be stronger than me. That was age 14 - 18. Since then, I've trained alone.
I suspect most of us prefer going it alone, but I will say in the right circumstances with the right partner, gains can be made quickly.
