I was in the grocery store today when I got hit with the hungries. I came across something I hadn't seen before - King Oscar Mediterranean Sardines. I got it, and when I got home and put everything away, I opened the can. It looked beautiful! Some sort of herbal stuff strewn all over it with sliced black olives. It was delicious!
I once spent New Year's Eve with a family that was from Portugal. It was their tradition to have sardines on toast on New Year's Eve. Figure that one out. Anyway, I was thinking about that, and, at some point, I think I'll do that. Maybe cream cheese on the toast. I don't remember what they put on their toast, if anything.

Very nice, Bruce. You can take heart that you are not the only one who cannot remember everything about New Year's Eve.

For most of my life my 2 cousins and I would get together to go backpacking at least once a year. My younger cousin would always bring a couple of cans of sardines. Then it became a joke that my older cousin and I would always bring extra cans of sardines for my younger cousin. He always accepted them gladly.
