I'm sure it's a good study but sometimes I have a hard time reading stuff like that. Just not much of a science guy. I tried different types of fasting and never had the energy I needed to do my work. I know there are guys that work that may be able to do different fast.

My first introduction to autophagy was in Clarence Bass' 2013 book Take Charge . But he only emphasized exercise's role in promoting the cell debris cleanup . Now gurus are touting ramping up autophagy with fasting to promote wellness .

Drink when thirsty. Eat when hungry. Sleep when tired. Exactly. For some of us who are not up with the play on 'this study or that', biological needs/functions serve as prompts for what should come naturally, in accordance with Universal/Creator dictates.
Of course, nature's animals certainly do have a routine in a general way, but it's not to the minute, neither their feeding and non-feeding periods, quite often. Unless they're in captivity and therefore subject to Man's eternal quest for self-imposed "order".
While these said studies are no doubt rigorous and well thought out, they may tend to be contradicted by yet another well thought-out and rigorous study, as soon as next year.
Unfortunately, the continuous and unremitting discussions/arguments/studies on diet and when to eat only engender confusion and doubt among some of us, and we eventually discover after a few midnight-oil sessions trying to make sense of the latest scientific conclusions, that we have a far more tranquil and happy life just going along with nature's flow and a bit of common sense plus a smidgen of self-discipline in order to avoid excess.

Eating ginger is said to promote autophagy.
