"Based on dietary guidelines and studies of cardiovascular risk factors, the researchers defined optimal fruit intake as 300 grams per day, equivalent to roughly two small apples. Optimal intake of vegetables, including legumes, was defined as 400 grams per day, equivalent to about three cups of raw carrots."

My first meal today is chopped sweet potato, chopped apple, chopped purple onion, wild blueberries and sprinkle of parsley, sea salt, cooked with steam. About 16oz when cooked down. Later, I'm going to eat steamed asparagus, tomato and chopped scallion, perhaps with liver or an egg. Fermented kraut added after cooking. Sea salt.

Do the old-timers here remember the “ketchup is a vegetable” controversy when President Reagan was in office?

Do the old-timers here remember the “ketchup is a vegetable” controversy when President Reagan was in office? I was thinking about that and chuckling just recently.
