Sometimes in life you have to be flexible in the things you do. Learn to take a chance and cross that bridge to the other side because you never know what you'll find. Be bold but make it interesting because if you live a dull life, you're missing out on what is possible and wonderful. The Gymnastic Bridge is just bad ass period. The isometric components of it, the ability to develop killer flexibility and just an overall great exercise. If you can do it or build up to it, that's amazing. The core strength to do this isn't easy especially if you're not a small guy. If there's one bridge worthy of developing, it's this one for sure.

I have known several people over the years who have herniated disks with extreme bridging. They ranged in ages from 24 to 43, both male and female. The most dangerous one is the nose to mat one. The cervical spine is much weaker than the thoracic or lumbar one.

I could never understand the bridge. When, in anyone's life, would that ever come into play or be useful?

When trying to get across a body of water, if you need to get across the River Thames for example, I have always found that using one of the bridges very useful.
