Hey Fred,
I remember You saying that You liked training rear delts. I like and have to do something for them when I train shoulders. I was curious about what exercises You use. Also the set and rep schemes You use. Thanks.

Michael I am not Fred but I have trained them my whole life. I mentioned in another thread I attribute my shoulder strength and health to never neglecting this region. Favorite exercises for me are bent over dumbbell raises, front face pulls and the most classic strand exercise of all time the front pull where you are standing and use your two arms to pull on the cable set and you pull it apart with stretched cables across your chest. Hook is great for it. Hold max tension for three seconds and then repeat. I like to do at least ten sets because most exercises for the shoulders and chest work stress the side and front delt. I like 10 to 13 reps. I like cable work the best either strands, tubes or a cable cross over machine with with weight stack because of the continuous tension provided. This is nice listing of exercises www.thefitnesstribe.com/best-rear-deltoid-exercises/In deference to Fred I waited way longer than some wait for a college professor to show up. I am sure he will I also still do the dreaded behind the neck press but I do not recommend in general because can he harmful to many. Also not sure how much rear delt emphasis.

Nice, Thanks for posting this! How many times a week do You train rear delts? Do You train front delts with specific exercises? I try to stay away from these because we get so much work from other exercises.

I mentioned it before. Kayak paddling movements forward and backward with a stick or belt, using high tension self-resistance work great for all delta fibers.

I also use heavy bag and speed bag which works them too.

I like some of the same exercises as You Stormshadow. But I've really become fond of this exercise. I don't care what he says about the bent DB raises, I like those too.
