I want Rick Rudes back and build. Despite a hell of a build out of any era, he was also freakishly strong as an arm wrestler.

Rick Rood was from Minnesota, as were Rick Flair, and at least one of the Road Warriors and Paul Ellering. All worked out at The Gym in Minneapolis at one time or another. Flair, The Road Warriors, Ellering and other wrestlers of that era said Rude was a genuine badass who no one wanted to tangle with. Stories about him as a bouncer make one wonder how he never went to jail.
The wrestler known as Meng had the same reputation, maybe even more so. Surprisingly, so did the former AWA champion, the late Vern Gagne.

Great channel. Interviews from big legends and the stories are frequently either really funny or so messed up, you wonder how they got away with it. This is a favorite of mine.

Fun fact on this one, as it "related" to me. He mentions the country singer John Anderson. John Anderson's mother and my maternal grandfather are 1st cousins. Not that it matters one bit, but John Anderson is my 4th cousin.

I watched the WWWF on HBO in the late 70s, while Vince Sr was in charge and Bruno Sammartino was still champion. That product was very good, but my bias still leaned to the AWA because of Gagne's background as an Olympic wrestler...he had the pedigree, and there was an awful lot of great talent in that organization then.
Never saw Memphis wrestling until YouTube videos came out, and it looked like a great organization as well.
