Like I said in another thread, I've heard nothing but glowing reports on the Sidewinder.

Like I said in another thread, I've heard nothing but glowing reports on the Sidewinder. I've got a Sidewinder Pro and use it every day.

SideWinder is the type of training equipment I would like to play around with but 145 bucks? Cmon man.
I'll just keep doing my wrist curls, and train with my self made wrist roller. I find the prize tag of the Side Winder outrageous. I do no see the massive benefit of the $145 dollar Side Winder compared to a $10 dollar self made Wrist Roller.
Yes, you can train your forearm flexors and extensors at the same time with the Side Winder. Wow. That's it. How about I just do some (reverse) wrist rolls and train one after the other. Same result.

Here's an early version of a DIY forearm blaster I made: The ones I have now use PVC pipe in place of the piece of broomstick and have pipe caps on the ends to retain the vinyl tube. I have three strengths. The finer the mesh of the nylon threads is and the thicker the tubing, the harder it is to twist. Pictured is the lowest resistance. Works by twisting in opposing directions, feels similar to a band resistance.

Mr Spuds' masterpiece can also be coupled with the Sierra Strap for isometrics and suspension training

I looked into buying both the Sidewinder and the Wringer, finally decided instead to get the Orbi-Grip, designed by David Horne. That's been out of stock at David's for quite a while but he told me the one made in Russia is a quality item, so I bought one and he was right, it is very well made and I really enjoy using it, it gives a different type of stimulus to the forearms...it is much the same in effect to my katana flail which I also love. The Russian orbi-grip cost about $90 US with the shipping, and it took three weeks to get from Moscow to New York...well worth the wait.
