I finally found the function that doesn't allow guest posting. Had to wind my way through 800 menus. Everyone must register in order to participate on this forum.

It was a move whose time has come.

I just changed my mind. I am allowing people to post as guests. The reason is because I logged out and then loaded up this forum. Instead of seeing the forum, all I could see was a great big message telling me I have to login or register. Makes me think, "Oh, yeah? Is your shit really that good?"
When I load up some forum, I want to be able to look it over a bit, see what some of the people and discussions are like before registering. You can't do that with Proboards. Better to just let people surf in here and maybe get interested. Whenever that jerkoff, whoever he might be, who has a hardon for me shows up as a guest, I'll just once again delete his posts and ban his sorry ass.
Well, at least I now know where to find that login function.

They had it coming Bruce! Many of the guests were abusing this feature to make nasty comments and disappeared afterwards

That will continue to happen.
Bruce made it open again and I agree with his reasoning. If I tried to check out any website that required me to register before I could see any of it, I'm gone. Nothing is so valuable that it prohibits a viewing the discussions.

I think that would be the solution

It doesn't feel quite right when the "Freedom of Speech Forum" dissolves speech with entrance hassles.

You know what? Now that I think about it, the guest posting is a good thing. Someone logs on here and decides he has something to say, he can just go ahead and say it without being hit with, "You must register, oh Unworthy One!" That person might or might not decide to become a member.
Once again Freedom shines forth on the Sierra forum.
Except for jerkoff.

Even if Bruce could make it so that only members could post, there's nothing to prevent you from signing up and posting .... so there's no infringement on your freedom of speech, billfish's mother.

Most people are so lazy that the hassle of signing up with the email verification is already too much effort for a mere troll post

No infringement indeed; just a small hassle mr potatohead. I haven't belonged to a forum since Parker was schooling everyone on everything -- at all times... If ever I were to officially join a forum again ~ this one would be on the top.

There have been a number of valid posts left here by guests.
