I don't do either to be honest. Partials are not healthy longterm everyone knows that. Whenever I do full range of motion though I hurt myself. Everyone says it's the healthiest thing, no, it doesn't work for me. I do something in between. I don't go 100% full ROM but maybe 80-85 that's more than most people do anyways.

I think you should just do what feels right for you, forget about the "form police"!

Who cares full rom or partial rom? Muscles do not care they only know that stress has been put on them and will get stronger overtime.

...... Partials are not healthy longterm (1) everyone knows that. Whenever I do full range of motion though I hurt myself (2). ....... 1. Where did you get that idea? IMO, holds, holds with movement and partials are the most effective and least harmful, especially as a person ages. It's my understanding that partials have always been a staple with, e.g., champion bodybuilders, although they use steroids, of course. I know that there are members here who do partials routinely. 2. There's a clue in there, I think ...... ? I never don't concern myself much with ROM at all any more. I just want muscle tension. Tension is tension. I completely almost always ignore sets, reps, angles or ROM. Just do what feels good and causes muscle tension.

I just try to follow the BB rules: 1. Keep constant high muscle tension through the range of motion 2. Do not lock the joints 3. Muscles should not have a break through the set.
It woks.

Yeah but it's possible for certain areas of a muscle to grow more than others; muscles actually grow differently depending on the range of motion they are put through. Anyway I think you ought to be able to move through a full range of motion with very little weight but in most real life activities the range of motion is much less than full so like most here I don't really worry about it.

"Full Range Of Motion" .......
Anyone know how to define that for every human? I've seen yoga people have a "full range of motion" that would be absurd for me to even think about trying. Just seems like more gym-bro-science-speak to me. Do what is comfortable for you and screw that "full ROM" BS, IMO.
e.g. Dan John says that Loaded Carries are the #1 strength builder. Very little movement on the upper body and extremities when holding the 'suitcases', sandbag or whatever, though.
