I know alot of guys aren't into this kind of stuff but I thought it was interesting. Years ago I did chest flys with DBs, probably 20 years. The only chest flys I have done since were with self-resistance and Bruce's cables. They feel better than DBs for sure. Feel it way more in the chest. He also mentions the moment arm the TR has mentioned in the past. I've actually moved away from some exercises instinctively and glad I have.

Well I have never had any problems with doing chest flys on the floor. I cannot see why chest flys on the floor could be considered anymore dangerous than anything else to do with working out.

In the video he mentions doing flys on the floor is safer. I thought he explained it pretty good. I was guilty in the past of thinking the stretch was good on the bench but it isn't. Just like with the Atlas pushups and bench press, that stretch is not really a good thing. Some people can get away with it longer then others.

My fault I saw the title of your thread "Stop Doing Chest Flys" saw the guy on the bench with a pair of dumbbells, I did not watch the video.

I do self-resistance chest fly using one hand and a long belt fixed under the door (like an resistant cable). I love this exercise and do not feel any problems.

, Bob did You watch the video. I sometimes don't watch the videos people post. Bob doing a chest fly like that is different than doing them with dumbbells on a bench. Jeff is pretty much talking about how DB chest flys on a bench are not really a good idea. He talks about why and gives options.

I don't plan on watching the video or doing chest flies.

Good because they wreck your shoulders and cause "Busted Up Weightlifters Syndrome".

I do flys on the floor, too.
The suspension training flys are my favourite, but unfortunately it's been a while since I have lived in a place with a suitable doorframe to set it up. On the plus side I now have a great gym area with a bench.

People ( sheeple?) have waited years for the Living Strength treatise to be released, so they can get back to working out and finally, start building the “ right kind of muscle”.
There will be shouting in the streets, once this opus is finally available to the masses, and lives will be changed, limbs regrown, and so much more.
There will be a Swobodian revolution, that will change the course of history.

At the moment I'm experimenting with light DB's, Strongfort does such an exercise while standing, arms straight.

The only chest Flys I do are DVR/VRT style. I never liked the DB way and rather do DB Bench Press and work with more weight. Chest Flys for the most part can be very awkward to move and some will do them with straight arms and others will do them with bent arms. Always did them with bent arms. Don't believe in isolating a muscle too much unless it was for rehab or something or testing the strength of that muscle. Too much isolation puts a damper on the the other muscles and hate leaving them feeling lonely .
