I was reading about Bruce Lee and came across this quote and thought at least some of you would enjoy reading it, even if you have seen it before!
“Flow in the living moment. — We are always in a process of becoming and nothing is fixed. Have no rigid system in you, and you’ll be flexible to change with the ever changing. Open yourself and flow, my friend. Flow in the total openness of the living moment. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Moving, be like water. Still, be like a mirror. Respond like an echo.”
– Bruce Lee
I think this mindset is why I enjoy LongStrength Exercise (HH; Extenders; Pan-X) so much, no reps, no specific "plan" , change directions, angles, reps, speed, tempo, resistance........not a rigid system so to speak!

If a person recognizes that exercise might benefit them, I think it's most important to for them to find exercise that they enjoy doing. I enjoy having no rigid program, schedule or routine. I don't want my recreation to feel like having a job.

Bruce Lee was ahead of his time Agreed, and I think most have yet to come close! Another quote that is pertinent: Life is never stagnation. It is constant movement, unrhythmic movement, as we as constant change. Things live by moving and gain strength as they go. – Bruce Lee

Where are the Bruce Lee's, Einsteins or Tesla's of our era? I mean, is there anyone? I wish there was more pioneers and freethinkers. I believe society and school systems kinda keep those people down. Many people are very good in certain aspects but they never get to reach their full potential. It's like their wings were tore before they had the chance to soar. I don't wanna know how many genius people could potentially invent crazy shit for us that would benefit our whole species, but nobody ever recognized their talent and helped to develop it. Those people are out there, they exist. They probably sucked in school and thought "well shit, I'm dumb, I'm not going anywhere in life, it is how it is" and work a bang average office job or stack shelves in your local super market. Albert Einstein wasn't a good student either. When will we realize that our school system sucks, always had sucked and forever will suck unless we change something. Jesus christ. They should focus more on people's strength and develop those instead of discouraging people with their very limited amount of subjects. You are kinda forced to "break out" like Zuckerberg did when he dropped everything, quit school and focused solely on facebook. Not everyone will do that though. They will learn something "normal" that's respected and appreciated within their family and friends circle and become lawyers, doctors even though they could be far more successful somewhere else.

So I'll start a conversation to ponder....
Is it really important that he fought anyone?
I think what makes him stand out...made him famous or infamous depending on your view...and while yes there is nothing new under the sun....is that he lived out for the most part what he talked and taught.
My mom (Now don't go picking on dear old mom!) that it took twice the man to wake away from or avoid a fight, then to get in one.
I always thought a true martial artist should be a Peaceful Warrior... that is at peace with himself and as possible with those around him, but had the knowledge and ability to take the situation in hand if need be.
However, ultimately as seen in the MMA, eventually someone will overcome your best knowledge.
Also it was mentioned about McGregor and Mayweather, martial artist use hand to hand combat and while they are different sports it shouldn't necessarily make a difference.
I am sure some of you have either heard of or seen where a martial artist are beaten by street fighters...and it can always go either way I think in reality....
The point being as the title of the movie...On any given Sunday. You may win as we have seen even in the MMA a fight today, but tomorrow, next week, next month, next year...maybe a different outcome. (Darn Father Time!)
All this to say I think it was more about his lifestyle, his teaching and living it out as close to possible...rather then if he fought in a match!!
