I liked the videos and arm training,it's fun. I also like variety to keep boredom low and motivation high. I don't have a barbell or heavy dumbbells. But I do have Bruce's bands, Hook, and two anchors. Bruce gave me a couple of ideas. One was in the bicep video with the bands around the DBs, which I like. I never and older fellow that use to do the first biceps exercise that's sort of like a drag curl. I use to laugh at him and say what the heck are You doing but the guy had decent arms. I know it's probably not from the exercise but we always had a good laugh.
I try not to think of training as in differant angles. I tend to look at it as training differant planes of motion. Like in a push exercise horizontal and vertical: examples: pushups & presses. Pull exercise horizontal and vertical: row and pull up. I know this is differant than training arms. I believe You when You say a muscle only contracts in one direction but the body moves in differant planes of motion. I know personally when I try a minumalist program I can't stick to it real long because I tend to get more injuries. Plus when people say something like chins are enough for Your biceps. I don't feel them to much if at all in my biceps because to make them feel good I pull my elbows down and feel them in my Lats.
I don't know about the science but differant exercises don't always feel the same as the next. Someone else may enjoy an exercise but they may aggravate my elbows and vs. versa. Anyway,if I'm not doing KSHD with my DBS the idea of using Bruce's cables for triceps and biceps is a nice one.
