So, it wasn't me picking up that heavy deadlift? The weights were doing it themselves...? All of the bracing to get ready for that lift and effort was unnecessary? Is this Gordon on the other end of these packets? You would question someone who wears imaginary bejeweled velvet crimson battle shorts? As I sit here in my boxers with jalapenos and cowboy boots with Gene Autry tunes accompanying the sunset over the hills...

I think what is meant is that the concentration/visualization is on the weights, to get them up. The muscles doing the job sort of go along for the ride.
The concentration is more on the muscles with KSHD-type movements using light? weights. Does that make any sense ? Heh...I got what he meant ( ) but I'd have to disagree and as you've lifted heavy, you probably get my point. For example when Pavel talks about bracing or tension in PYTP and Naked Warrior, I got exactly what he meant as I did just that before picking or lifting or squatting a heavier weight. If you don't stay focused on being 100% "braced" or tense from start to finish, your chances of being successful in that lift are significantly reduced. Pavel: I can't honestly say that I did any of that when I was weight lifting/training. I guess it happened spontaneously as the lift went on, but my concentration was usually about visualizing the lift itself happening, and trying to maintain good form.
There was no thought about the muscles being used or deliberately braced. In fact, the biggest weights (for me) I ever lifted were most often without any pre-visualization at all of what I was doing, let alone muscle-bracing. I simply performed the movement as if I was brushing my teeth or other routine "automatic" movements. A sort of remoteness.
Perhaps I should have done some of that Pavel stuff. Too late now.

I'm beginning to feel the effects - a lot sooner than with just KSHD. So, there's one difference becoming evident. I believe that for my next workout I will do the shoulder raises KSHD/weights style. I will also finish the workout with my favorite KSHD exercise, performed without weights - stand with your arms outstretched to the sides, parallel to the floor. Biceps curl in and then triceps push out. This is a great overall KSHD exercise which also hits your shoulders. For visualization, imagine that you're Steve Reeves in Goliath and the Barbarians, curling in horses tethered to your wrists, and then imagine yourself, again, as Steve Reeves, in Hercules Unchained, pushing apart spiked gates closing in on you. I take it a step further and imagine myself to be wearing my bejeweled velvet crimson battle shorts. 1:35......... These are also solid choices for exercising with bands, though the first one requires an appropriate space and benefits from the door anchor attachment True. If you wanted to set up hooks 10' apart, or so, you could do the curl in with The Hook, and then there's the Hook back press for the push outs. But, you could also simply do the curl in one arm at a time with the anchor. In fact both exercises are shown in the Hook Exercise Manual. However, I think the particular exercise I've described above is best done as pure kSHD. There's something very Zen-like about it. You just start moving your arms in and out and fall into a contemplative state, getting in touch with your inner self, becoming one with the Cosmic Mushroom.

You would question someone who wears imaginary bejeweled velvet crimson battle shorts? Bruce,
It isn't the imaginary bejeweled velvet crimsom battle shorts that makes one want to question you.
It's the bad taste you exhibit when you wear those ridiculous puce patent-leather high-heel pumps and the cochineal-red dyed ostrich feather. Those colors happen to clash with velvet crimson, you know. How could you be so uncouth?

Well, you've obviously never seen me in my lavender Tarzan tongs with the adorable leopard print.

Yeah that comment made myself think also. Right now I can't buy any more DBs. Whether someone else thinks there good enough isn't what matters. What matters is I can make them work really well KSHD(intra muscular contraction). I have to make due with what I have.
I definitely understand some don't like this kind of training. But if you think about, it's better than doing nothing. I enjoy it with calisthenics and cables.

So, I just finished my first week, completing my third KSHD/Resistance routine. I had set up just the right weights and bands to effectively hit all my upper body groups. Awsome! I am really liking this protocol! I am usually hesitant to make a pronouncement until I've been doing something long enough to see results, or know that it is something I will stick with, but I'me here to tell you this stuff really works and it feels great!
All because of Michael's one, dumb casual remark....
