It's a good idea for adding the resistance at the top and diminishing it at the bottom of the lift for (serious) powerlifters. Adding a weighted handle as just a handle for resistance bands (I believe) simply adds momentum to the handle and somewhat defeats the purpose of resistance bands. YMMV of course.
