I made a landmine set up this week. I've never used one before. This thing is great. It feels safe like training on a machine.
My right shoulder gets irritated quite easily by things like pushups, bench press etc and I sometimes get pins and needles in my left arm at night if I lay on my right side especially when I've done some sort of pressing so I've been looking into this and found a post by a guy that seemed to know what he was talking about who recommended landmine and over head presses and shrugs and a lot less bench presses and rows to a guy that seemed to have the same problems as me. The guy reported back to say he noticed an improvement very quickly so I made a landmine set up and have used it several times this week. The right shoulder has been great and I've had no pins and needles in the left arm at night.
I had not owned a long bar in many years but picked up a couple of rusty ones recently in job lots of old weights that I found on Facebook Marketplace. I treated them with rust converter to stabilise the rust. They are not pretty but they do the job.
The landmine is great for my squats as well. I have bursitis in my right knee that flares up when my knee joint is bent at more than 90 degrees. This has always made leg training difficult. If I use a small towel passed under the end of the bar and hold onto the towel like reins I can set it so that when my knees are bent at 90 degrees, the weight is just touching the floor and I know to not go down any lower.
Looking on Youtube there are so many exercises that can be done with this but I've only done a couple of squat variations, press and Romanian deadlift.
To me it feels very similar to training on a machine. Feels very safe. I may be missing out on some of the stabilising
