" To all of my Male friends from 50 years and up... most of us are going through the next phase of our lives.
We're at that age where we see wrinkles, gray hair, and extra pounds. We have ran households, paid the bills, dealt with sickness, sadness, and everything else life has assigned us.
We are survivors... we are warriors in the quiet... we are men ...like a classic car or a fine wine.
Even if our bodies may not be what they once were, they carry our souls, our courage, and our strength. We shall all enter this chapter of our lives with humility, grace, and pride over everything we have been through, and we should never feel bad about getting older. It's a privilege that is denied to so many. "
Nor are we teenage boys admiring ourselves in a mirror.....and we don't see a teenage boy staring back at us
We are MEN and we are not ashamed of our age, nor do we dishonor our parents and elderly relatives and other elderly people we have known in life by referring to them as "old turds"....these are the people who raised us, fed us, supported us, guided us and were there for us in life's hard times
Do they deserve to be referred to that way ?
They are people to be looked upon with respect..... not dishonored by demeaning terms
WE are secure in our age....only insecure little boys fear aging and mock the aged
