As usual I didn't see it in. I went to bed at about 9:30.
I started off the new year by letting the cats out and then putting a bowl of water under my car where a local cat has been living for the past couple of days. I don't know what is going on with him. He's lived around here for at least a few years and has an owner but I don't know who they are. He wears a collar with a bell. He used to wear a name tag. His name is Corona (which is a female name!). I have no idea why he is under my car when the temperature has been in the high 30's Celsius. He's very friendly to us and keen to come into our house but one of our cats has had loads of fights with him in the past.

I believe I will spend it much the same way, feeding cats and going to bed early. I don't believe I've been awake at midnight on New Year's for at least 12 years, and don't mind it a bit. Happy New Year's all.

I’ll be at home. gf has to work. I’ll be asleep well before midnight, as usual.
What’s that old song? Nothing changes New Year’s Day.
Most make resolutions, and throw in the towel before February.
Too many idiots getting drunk and driving, especially in the city I live in.

It's 8:56 am here so I'm well into the new year now. Last night there were a lot of fireworks going off shortly after I went to bed so I expected to get woken up by them at just after midnight but I slept through. Mind you, I was wearing headphones and listening to an ancient history podcast on low volume.

45 mins to go hear and I can't say I have ever been a fan of NYE, but still up with the family. Hope everyone has a good 2022, we need some good times after the last 2 years.

I too was in bed early — 9pm. I’ve recently started seeing a new girl and the honeymoon period has worn me out. She managed to get covid pre Xmas but I keep testing negative and seem to have avoided it completely symptom free.
Happy new year!
