I tried a 30-second down/30-second up pushup. Full-range in this case.
The left elbow was crackling on the way down (the main reason why I don't normally do pushups any more) but it was still very worthwhile.
I think that anyone who is used to doing long-hold isometrics should be able to do the 30/30 pushup (for example) without too much trouble. Especially if they've been doing straight-arm and bent-arm planks.
In saying that, I believe that even a single rep of such would be beneficial in any program. The hell would come to you pretty quick with more reps.
I saw an article years ago of a Japanese karate master knocking off 25/25 pushups in his class. His black-belts were having trouble after the second rep.

Parker had been a big advocate of super slow. Too tough for me so I don’t do them. The program has got to match the personality and super slow isn’t me. Appreciate those who can and do this tough training modality.
Where is the “big guy?”
