That's a good video and makes sense to me Magnus. I like it when people do their own experiments and talk from experience. Plus, he's not selling any product. I use Bruce's Sierra bands all the time for supplemental exercises. I know people here hate working arms but this morning I used them for a superset with biceps and triceps. One thing I could add to his progressive resistance part of the video with bands is that You can't always add more resistance. Bands are different in that sense where You may have to add reps or sets instead for the progressive resistance.

Note James G sells resistance band products Yes he does, but you'd hardly know it from watching his video's as he doesn't blatantly hawk them via any type of sales pitch. I believe him when he say's all he uses are the resistance bands, and the knowledge he's accumulated over the last few years of exclusively using the bands is substantial. He freely shares this knowledge through numerous and very well put together youtube video's, so if he happens to sell what he believes is a quality product it's quite alright by me BTW, I've been dabbling in the 'bands recently, and experimenting with his set / rep scheme advice. Happy to report it seems to work !

The beginning of this video is just about the extent of a "sales pitch" by James, pretty subtle if you ask me. Once you get past the brief 5 second mention of his product, he generously gives out just about the best advice I've ever seen regarding working out successfully using resistance bands. He even mentions iso's...

Oh my stomach is hurting. Uncle Gruntbrain, . Yeah, Uncle Gruitbrain I didn't investigate the guy. In the videos, I watched I thought the info was solid and didn't see much selling going on. Most of the time I just look for what I can use and if I agree with anything the person is putting out there. I can't remember the guy on these forums that has a PDF or something on bands. The information this guy was talking about in the first video is not rocket science, bottom line bands are resistance and provide tension no matter what way You look at it. If not, Why would Bruce be selling them? I know from my own experience that if I was to use only the Sierra bands or any other thing that provides resistance, I will get results/benefits.

Kudos to everyone training bodybuilding style. That takes discipline particularly if you work the equally-as-important nutrition component.
I have fitness training attention deficit disorder (FTADD) and couldn’t train that way.

Things are only as hard as We make them. Some may say the same about what we do. What some of us do, You included, takes discipline also. I think most people, I know You do and that's ok, hate the DOMS, . Also, a lot of people think about steroid user programs when they think about bodybuilding. All training is just common sense, knowing when Your body needs rest and not following someone else's madness. Pierini You re-enforced most of those ideas even though I already knew them.

I have fitness training attention deficit disorder (FTADD) and couldn’t train that way. My roots are in bodybuilding 'style' training, and I like to revisit my youth and those types of workouts from time to time; but I was admittedly never one to adhere to the strict diet discipline required to pose onstage and show off my goodies in a 'mankini' Besides, I've always found that the chicks dig a bit of muscle on a guy, but they also seem to like it when you have a little extra comfort cushioning, especially the chicks with 'daddy issues' Yes, I'm frequently drawn back to the pseudo-bodybuilding type of training from my youth, so I guess you can say that I have 'fitness acquired recessive training exercise disorder' (FARTED) and wouldn't workout any other way.

I actually know a little about bodybuilding training using dumbbells only to write a book and I eventually will.
It’ll be titled LIBIDO TRAINING. LIBIDO is an acronym standing for “ LONG INTENSE BODYBUILDING INTERVALS DUMBBELLS ONLY”.
I think this book will sell more copies than my previous two books.

Lmao, Pierini You're killing me, . I don't know if You're are joking or serious but either way that's funny. There is a style of training that was developed by Pat O'Shea in the 70's known as Interval Weight Training. I have seen some workouts from Ryan Fischer. He calls them High-Intensity Bodybuilding which is a combination of Interval Weight Training and bodybuilding. Magnus, I have a set of Powerblock DBs I bought used. They only go up to 50 pounds. I tried to get additional weight but it would be near impossible. I have the same roots as You in bodybuilding style training and I also revisit those types of sessions from time to time. I know some don't consider that fitness but that I would say mostly comes from the people involved in competitions and the bad rap they give to it. In my opinion, anything that gets someone moving and off their butts I consider fitness. But everyone is entitled to their opinions.

I know jack crap about bodybuilding other than the articles I’ve read now and then, probably the same ones everyone else has read. And there’s the stuff that bodybuilding legend Bruce has written.
