I reached my weight loss goal this week, a morning weigh in of 180 lbs.
I started at 195, and wanted to get back to the weight I was from 2017. It took about four months longer than I had originally forecasted, and as I went from 195 to 183 twice, and both times drifted back to 195, I almost said phuck it. My gf said I looked great at that weight, life is easy, no stress, just enjoy the fruits of your labor and be “ okay” being a little softer, attributing it to age...
But in September, back at 195, I decided to get focused and make it happen. It took about 11 weeks, but my morning weight finally hit 180.
The thing that temporary failure taught me is if you are going to achieve your goal, you have to want it bad enough to make it happen, and can’t blame outside forces for your setbacks.
The “ why” is more important than the “ how”.
Now, the goal is to remain in a range of 179-181 for my morning weigh ins, and preserve my success.

Congratulations!
Keep doing what you did to get there now that you’re in maintenance except bump your daily calories to maintenance level.
I’m 5 lbs. heavier now averaging 174 lbs. than my peak fitness “fighting weight” most of 2020 until I got sidetracked with my retirement and move to another state. I’m 5 lbs. higher than my Army discharge weight when I was age 20 which was 45 years ago. Will drop back to 170 lbs. by my 66th birthday next February.
Lighter is better for me because I’m still running. Burpees, bar dips and pull-ups are easier too.
Thanks for sharing. Keep marching forward in your fitness, health and wellness journey!

Congratulations MBS! 🤣😂🤣 I knew someone else that claimed a 32 inch waist at that weight and I believe you're taller. Thanks Michael. I’m 6’ 2”. My build reflects the activities I do a lot of , hiking and rock scrambling. As I get older, I want to return to a lighter weight, yet still maintain strength.

I'm 5'11" and I like to keep my weight around 170lbs. I currently range 170-174lbs in the morning. I thought about in the past trying to go to 165lbs but not sure if that's wise because I have to pick up odd objects all the time.

Congratulations! Great job MBS, as we get older it’s not always that easy to loose weight, what was it that you did that that was a big factor in your weight loss? Congratulations again to you and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

^^^^^^thanks Billfish^^^^^^^
rock scrambling is a lot of fun, and tests you in many ways. Even on the same route, the “ workout “ is never the same twice. It’s a great test of balance, agility, and endurance strength, and can burn a lot of calories.
I like to say it forces you to use your “kids” brain, to solve technical problems, and you can’t go on autopilot. You MUST stay in the moment.
I’m fortunate to have some of the best rock scrambling available in the country in red rock canyon, 12 miles from my house. People come from all over the country to climb here. Alex Honnold, of the movie Free Solo fame, lives here, and is known to climb regularly here, when not traveling.

Nice work MBS, your comments on goal setting and seeing it through is the central message from most motivational speakers. It’s about the why. If your why is solid enough, the how figures itself out.
