Magnus, what’s better? The “ powder coat” or the “ E coat”?
just a personal preference?

Thanks Magnus. The Titan adjustable looks interesting. Won’t ship till December 15 though I like that 20kg rogue too. $61 + shipping. I haven’t check shipping price but I’m guessing north of $30. I've heard such good things about KB swings. Looking forward to getting started with them. There's a shipping calculator on there, just add it to the cart to check. I bought a few from them and shipping to New Jersey was around $20.

I prefer the powder coat ones. Yeah, it's probably a personal preference. The e coat feels like steel to me. The powder coat feels smoother to me.

I bought the regular powder coat and the powder coat 'Version 2.0' when they were in stock, and have no complaints, I really like them

I have two 16kgs, two 20kgs, one 24kg, and one 28kg I bought from Rogue over the years. The shipping really isn't that bad. I forgot about the shipping calculator on there that Magnus mentioned.

I’ve had a 16kg and a 24KG from DD for probably 15 years now. So I can vouch for the quality there. I’m not thrilled with the paint/coating on my 24kg it has an almost rubbery sheen that creates more friction than my 16kg. Particularly when snatching. But I deal w it. I can’t account for the coating they use nowadays or if it has even changed.
You’d be fine with the 24kg. 50+ lbs of KB is a different kind of weight than a DB (feels like it’s all there) but it’s so much more fun. I like swings but Snatches are where it’s at, although they carry more technical demand.
As of late I’ve been looking at Rogue Fitness KBs. Look like excellent quality and coating is closer to what I like about my old 16kg.
Edit: I see the term Powder Coating here that’s the term I was searching for it’s so much better for pulls in my opinion.

Well, I pulled the trigger.
Went with the 24 kg Rogue powder coat version.
A little pricey: total cost of $122. But I figure it will last many years.
I like the fact it’s made here in the USA 🇺🇸.
Thank you all for your input!

Can definitely relate to what Mag said. When I lived in my former city, I’d do most of my KB workout s at various parks and would have to lug them to and from my quiet sweet spot locations where I’d do my workouts. I remember hauling them back to my car after a workout in wonderment about how heavy they felt while scratching my head bedazzled that I had completed the workout I just did. Recommend that the volume you initially tackle get done with lower rep rounds. Manage the challenge by your recovery time between rounds. 5 rep rounds for 20 rounds is my suggestion.

Since I’ve never done KB swings, I don’t know what to expect, but I’ll start slowly and focus on getting the form down, and build from there.

May sound weird but You shouldn't feel it in Your back if you're doing them right. The only advice I'd give is something Pavel said about reps, form, and time. He said in his book Simple & Sinister, which is a minimalist program, is when people go over 10 reps their form tends to get looser. Pierini's recommendation is good. Pavel recommended 10 reps of 10 sets with a goal to get that done in 5 minutes. You can do Every Minute On the Minute. Just some food for thought.

This effort wouldn’t meet Pavel’s form but it’s quite a challenge, 100 KB swings with a 24kg KB in 2:35. I don’t recommend it for a beginner.

The more I research this, it looks like if you were only to do one exercise for overall strength and muscular endurance, the two handed KB swing is it.
