My wife and I decided to build a little community for our little feathered friends... Our back yard: We got this hook pole and bird feeder, and as you can see, the hook pole alone would hold the bird feeder up about a foot off the ground, so I put together this set up: This is my DIY bird bath. I got a platter from Walmart and secured a 1" flange to the underside using JB Weld: This showpiece we have up near the front of our house. It was all white when we got it. I can't tell you how exacting and nerve-wracking it was to paint the thing: All the pipes that everything is mounted on are buried a foot deep into the ground with flanges on the ends.

It looks you did them for fun not for birds. Plus bad open location!

Bruce's bird homes should be presented at the next architects' convention. They are spectacular. And after all the exacting painting, what will they look like after the birds shirt all over them ?

What's all those wires seen in your back yard photo ? A couple of them look like they've been strung up right over your back lawn from the neighbours to a pole outside the picture.

One of them is a line coming into our house and one of them is going in to our neighbor's house. There just happens to be a tree in our yard growing directly under the one going into the neighbor's house. Lucky us. The neighbor on the other side just happens to be a cable guy (He and his wife are now over their Covid). He told me that the cable company will just move that particular line to another pole. He said they do it all the time.

Yep.....my wife got some peat out of the big container in the carport and there was a Wren's nest in there Every year they make nests somewhere in our carport Had to seal off a couple of areas inside the carport to keep the Starlings out....they were not happy about that and walked back sand forth across the roof for about 1 /2 an hour

They look great Bruce! Our deck is outside our bedroom window and last year I set up 4 feeders on the rail. We are routinely entertained by hummingbirds and gold finches. We see an occasional cardinal and all the other birds native to northern Illinois.

Ripken was my favorite Oriole, let me know if you see one. How far is Kaufman Stadium from Pratt? You could see plenty of Orioles there.
