This is a very long article and I thought some may be interested in reading it. Alot of the stuff I didn't know about. I think one of the first protein powders I tried was Weider's, Yuck. , I did try raw eggs after watching the Rocky movie when I was a kid. From what I understand from the article steriods have been around since the 30's. On the internet I've read alot of crazy things about the bodybuilding community. If someone trains that way it doesn't bother me one bit. I sometimes revert back to training similar because it feels good on some old injuries from work. I'm not saying this article is true or false, just thought it was interesting. www.westonaprice.org/health-topics/splendid-specimens-the-history-of-nutrition-in-bodybuilding/

Great article.
I can’t fathom eating 36 eggs a day. And to do it daily for 6+ Weeks..😳.

All the variations and excess just reinforces my opinion that among the high level bodybuilders that did these things, most of their results came "in spite of" rather than "due to".

I managed to get a couple cans of the stuff way back when I started training - a gym manager gave them to me - and I thought it was great stuff. I gained weight for sure, probably owing to the fact I mixed the Blair blend with cream. I could never find any more of the product after that.

Great article. I can’t fathom eating 36 eggs a day. And to do it daily for 6+ Weeks..😳. That's a lot of eggs. Although, if you're going to do that, eating them whole will give the most protein benefit since the yolk has the nutrients needed for the body to use the white's protein. (just learned that yesterday)

That's long article. I can't sit long enough to read it all. Must break up. But, I will read it all. Thanks for sharing! I liked what George Hackenschmidt said.

Although, if you're going to do that, eating them whole will give the most protein benefit since the yolk has the nutrients needed for the body to use the white's protein. (just learned that yesterday) I used to eat 20-plus eggs a day when I was running distance, and I'd read somewhere that one yolk and five whites was nearly as nutritious as five whole eggs.

I can't eat egg whites alone, but I can eat yolks without the whites. The yolks the tastiest part, IMO.

I did read the article a couple of years ago but I'm re-reading it. Not in one sitting. I would have to agree with Deuce. I prefer a more balanced approach to eating. I can't see myself eating raw meat or veggies, or concentrating on one kind of food. Although I try to eat as clean as possible I want to enjoy what I'm eating. I don't enjoy extremes. I did find something that I tried to put in words before but was unsuccessful," He also knew that weight loss was not a matter of simple calorie counting, as cellular uptake or utilization of food varied on an individual basis." That was in the second paragraph about Tony Sansone. I know no one here agrees with that but I have found some truth with it for myself.

If I ate what Grimek ate, it would not be pretty.
