I am shocked that Robert did not find and post this video first and tell us it would be his "rest of my life routine". With walking of course.

I seldom do pushups or other direct chest work. Consequently, my chest is relatively less developed compared to my back muscles which are the most developed.
I remember doing more pushups during the Bronze Bow (pre-Transformetrics era) and suppose my chest was better developed. Remember doing 500 rep workouts in sets of 25 reps spread out over 1-2 hours. Also remember one workout where I did 10 pushups every minute on the minute for 30 minutes for a total of 300 reps.
Played around with StrongLifts about 7 years ago and did more bench press work upping my loads to amounts never before imaginable and had better chest development then but was carrying more body fat.
I'm going on a longer vacation beginning in early October and will not have access to a gym or my normal training implements so maybe the month will be a pushup-focused month. We'll see.

I basically can't do any pushups, I'm too fat and my elbows hurt.

I've done pretty much no pushups a day for the last seven or eight years

I do at least 1000 pushups a day. But that eventually wrecked me. I had to grow a pony tail and now only tug on a strap. Oh sorry. Wrong forum

I basically can't do any pushups, I'm too fat and my elbows hurt. Dave, Do you want to do pushups? If so, you should consider consulting with a doctor about why you have pain in your elbows. Is it in the joints?
Does the pain appear only when trying to do a pushup? Do you have arthritis? If so, what kind, (Don't answer these questions here if you don't feel comfortable doing so. Just raise them with yourself and your doctor). - Osteoarthritis?
- Rheumatoid arthritis?
- Psoriatic arthritis?
[/div][/ul]
If you can resolve the pain issue or work around it, can you do a wall pushup? When you can do 20 good wall pushups fairly slowly with good form, try doing pushups from an elevated object, like the back of a chair or couch with your feet on the ground. Do as many as you can. If it is fewer than 20, do the rest as wall pushups. Give yourself permission to take a break if you need to. When you can do 20 elevated pushups, try doing them from the floor, hands closer to the chest without elbows flaring out. Do as many as you can up to 20. If you can do fewer than 20, finish up the rest with wall pushups.
Exhale on the way down, inhale on the way up. Make your tummy and legs as stiff as you can while you do them. Don't go nose-to-the-floor. Just go until your upper arms are parallel to the floor to protect your shoulders and elbows. If you decide to do this, let us know. I know all of us here will be cheering on your every effort.

Yeah Dave, find a wall and try some wall pushups. Or are walls hard to find where you workout because the cabers you throw will bang into them?

I'm not really interested, was just trying to give you a little laugh. I knew that and didn’t offer you an attaboy but the Florence Nightingale twin sisters here didn’t figure you out.

And then Ted Skup did many more and looked less muscular. I wonder how Ted's doing these days and how his joints are. I'm betting the guy in the video has done some sort of PEDs. What say ye?
