Ummm....did Chuck Norris fight full contact? Usually tournament fighting from the 60's means light or no contact sparring.

You would know much more about it than I, Fred. I'm probably wrong about that.
However, as far as I can see, whatever the contact level of the martial arts tournaments that were running back then, Bruce Lee competed in 0. He apparently passed up whatever opportunities there were to fight in any type of official fighting match?

He's pretty much 90% myth. The only competition he ever won was as a dancer. He was pretty lucky to be the main man on the scene when the martial arts thing exploded, but if he was just starting out now ,you'd never hear of him. Myths can be just as important and in that sense he's a massive inspiration ,but there's bugger all behind the myth if you look too closely

JP wiped the floor with Bruce in a secret match , but humbly offered to teach him all his secrets if he rejected Taoism and visited him in Idaho.

I'm 100% sure he would've become a MMA fighter if it actually existed back then. Fighting was his passion, acting payed the bills. Others competed in martial arts full contact events. Chuck Norris has a tournament record? Bruce could have, but he did not. Not much money in there. Acting much more profitable
