People pay attention, spudhead. And it doesn't hurt to repeat things for the benefit of those who never experienced them. And, mon ami', sometimes some things are said that aren't particularly relevant to someone at a particular time and might be glossed over, whereas those same things might suddenly be of great interest to that same someone who is now looking into those particular channels.

You're right about that. It's happened to me. I just get frustrated sometimes. My problem and not blaming anyone else.

Bruce, one thing I can recommend is Mike Brown's Three-Day Diet. It is really quite simple: on day 1 you eat nothing at all, but can drink all the water and black coffee you want; on day 2 you eat only fruits and fruit juices, all you want, though the juices should not have extra sweetening; on day 3 you eat only vegetables and vegetable juices, all you want; and then days 4-7 you eat whatever and how much you want (within reason of course). You can repeat the cycle anytime you're ready as needed.
A couple of years ago in the winter I went on an all isometric program, using only short holds...tried it because the Static Contraction book claimed fat loss for folks doing this...for me anyway just the opposite happened, in no time at all I had to let my belt out two notches. I did the Mike Brown diet and at the end of the first week easily took my belt in one notch. I then took a week off from the diet, just ate normally, and then did the Brown diet for a second week, and at the end of the second week I easily took the belt in another notch.
You might think that this kind of diet was producing water loss only, but I don't think so; I have been eating just my normal diet for the last two years and the weight never came back...so it wasn't water loss.
The only bad thing about this diet is that it is kind of unpleasant to be on, although not nearly as unpleasant as a zero carb diet which I tried once in the past and which made me feel like death. The good news though is that the unpleasantness doesn't last long, you get the whole thing over pretty quickly and the results are significant and permanent. I suggest you ask your doctor before doing it though as those first three days might be hard on your body...I don't want you passing out.
Cheers, Fred

Actually good advice Mikey. I think Vegetus mentioned about changing up the exercise a little also. Bruce instead of doing more cardio try changing it up by doing intervals or something different. You'll figure it out.

Well, now, that gives me all the confidence in the world!
Fred, thanks for your suggestion, however, my goal is to get down to where I want to be while continuing on a healthy diet that I will always adhere to. I suppose 12 or so lbs. over the next 4 months, or so, isn't impossible. Maybe if I cut out the Spam and Hostess Twinkies.....

What's the difference between eating LESS food (via intermittent daily fasting) and eating NO food (absolute, four day or+ fast)?
Eating NO food - hunger declines and more muscle is retained. (during an absolute/water only fast, lasting four days or more)
Eating less food - increases hunger and burns off muscle. (during periods of daily intermittent fast or delayed eating)
So, fasting works better than daily caloric restriction to lose fat and retain muscle mass. Possibly why rearranging macros to eat more protein and less carbs &/or fat while maintaining gross calories works if one choses to continue eating and not do an extended absolute fast, since net calories are reduced by the digestion of the protein, which requires more calories to digest. Although, doing so will result in steady but slower fat loss than an absolute, 4 day+, fast.

Yeah, I didn't know that. I wonder if whiffet knows that? I've always just added them to food, but I'm grinding them from now on. Thanks.

Just reduce portion size and you'll start losing again. So stick with the same food but just cut down a bit more. This is excellent advice. Unfortunately as you lose more and more weight your calorie maintenance requirement for the lower bodyweight decreases proportionately. You have done great Bruce.
