It's right here in Kansas not far from me. I'm going to have to postpone my trip to see the world's largest ball of twine in Cawker City , Kansas, in favor of Coronado's Castle! www.kansastravel.org/coronadoheights.htm

Gawd! Look at how exacting those stones fit together! This could have only been built by aliens!

The view looks very nice. The "castle" is what is known as a folly. These were quite popular with British aristocrats in the 18th century. They would sometimes have fake, ruined castles, temples etc built on their land. Often built far from the house but in view.

Thank you for that little educational and historical tidbit, Bruv.

I used to drive past Dinton Folly quite often. There are several follies at West Wycombe House which is also not far from where I lived and I have visited these. Sir Francis Dashwood had them built in the 18th century. britainexplorer.com/west-wycombe-estate-follies/He also had some caves carved out of the hillside. The excavated chalk and flint was used for a road building project and the caves were then used by him to host the notorious Hellfire Club which was a secretive club for naughty arictocrats to get up to high jinks and debauchery.

How positively cool! I toured King John's castle when I lived in England. I believe those caves, of which you speak, were investigated by Ghost Hunters.

I don't really know much about them but most would be original castles, m8. I know there are follies all over Europe. Wikipedia has an article that lists some of these. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folly

It's Friday night here and I'm up for a little high jinks and debauchery myself. Think I'll get me some.
