Nice there's a mention of the TSC protocol:
"Thus, isometric training is best suited for developing your maximal strength. However, this is not generally true, as there is a possibility to use a special protocol for Hypertrophy as well. The goal for hypertrophy training is to activate as many fibre as possible until they are fatigued. The Timed Static Contraction (TSC) protocol of Drew Baye exploits the so called “Henneman´s size principle”, which states, that under load first type I fibres are activated and starting with Fmax > 25% more and more type II fibres are activated. Thus, in the protocol you contract against an immovable object with about 50% of your estimated Fmax for 30s, 75% for another 30s and for another 30s give as much as you can. This has a similar effect as normal hypertrophy training."

FMT. Wasn't that the go-to term at one time else where in the world, and then banished as allegiances shifted?

FMT. Wasn't that the go-to term at one time else where in the world, and then banished as allegiances shifted? You are correct. I think Greg Newton re-named one of JP's methods, and it was approved by the management.
I know it means "focused muscular tension" , but I don't know what focused muscular tension means. I think it has something to do with concentrating on whatever muscle group you are working at the time.
Charles Atlas said, "put plenty of pep and snap into your exercises", and "don't dilly dally...think power into your muscles" etc. etc.
Correct me if I am wrong about FMT.
I think it would be better if we just use real words instead of grouping a few letters together in order to make something old seem like something new.

Well all that's in the past. Patrick really has nothing to do with any of that. My dealings with him have always been positive. He wrote a couple of articles I thought were pretty good and he's not making anything sound magical.I do not believe he was around that forum when they started using FMT. He used all the training he mentioned in the article.
If You do that kind of training, since there's no outside resistance, You have to focus on the muscle. Also You have to create Your own tension. So if he wants to call it that I don't see anything wrong with that.

Looks like Greg's "Focused Muscular Tension" has caught on in places unconnected to him or to the Blow. Why not? It's a good, descriptive term. Stick that in your silk wrestling singlets, JP!

When I first heard that term - Focused Muscular Tension - I thought it a bit hypocritical - and par for that forum - because Greg and Peterson had earlier scoffed at Tabata training as nothing more than sprint intervals with an exotic name, and then Greg renamed the tension exercises as FMT.

I simply liked the term, because it reminded me of the concept of "mindfulness". No affiliation with anyone.

Yes, it has a certain ring to it. It reminds me of "broccoli and rusty springs".

I always do FMT when doing DVR, and of course, ISO dynamic power flexing, to build my NV ( nerve force ), and then afterwards, I do eccentric isometrics, followed by a 🍻, and some BS.
( did I forget anything? )

( did I forget anything? ) 😂 If you think you've covered everything, then you obviously don't know SHIT (Slide-Hold Isometric Training) I'm a bit surprised that you don't know SHIT, as we started this SHIT right here on this forum. Of all the isometric protocols that are being discussed on this forum, SHIT is the one that really jacks you the most. Too bad you don't know jack SHIT.
