My only use of heavy DBs(200#+) is single arm deadlifts(much safer than using 32 DBs) Holy Big Weights, Batman! Grunt, do tell more.

I wasn't talking about "going heavy". You introduced that goal. It's not mine & I doubt a newbie is going to start by pressing 300#. I already said it was very inexpensive and how I acquired them. And thanks a bunch for explaining the capacity of the spin-on DB handles. When I max out the handles, I tighten them up with only the lock washer and it's very secure, nothing unsafe about it, unless you aren't familiar with Lefty Lucy & Righty Tighty. However, I don't actually use them that heavy since I'm only using the tool to create Time Under Tension which is what makes muscle grow anyway. You can use whatever resistance tool you want, what causes the muscle to grow is the TUT that muscle working against the load creates. No TUT, no muscle growth. Ask Silverlooks, see what he says. Yeah I would not buy those DB blocks. I think TR's mikey's suggestion, which I believe Whiffet also suggested in the past, for the plate-loading DB handles is a good idea for a home gym. When I use DBS I use Bruce's KSDH so I don't use much weight myself. But If someone is interested in progressive overload via heavier weights you would need more weight, of course. Exactly.

(1) However, I don't actually use them that heavy since I'm only using the tool to create Time Under Tension which is what makes muscle grow anyway. You can use whatever resistance tool you want, what causes the muscle to grow is the TUT that muscle working against the load creates. No TUT, no muscle growth. Ask Silverlooks, see what he says. (2) (1) Mikey, you keep this up nobody's going to respond to you since your reading comprehension is slipping. I didn't say anything negative about your inclusion of washers being unsafe. What I did say was why it wouldn't work for ME since you can't load the handles up with any serious weight. Instead of looking for a reason to get pissy with me, read the post. There's nothing in what I wrote criticizing you or your design, but, heaven help anyone that dares make a comment cause you sure won't understand it... (2) As usual, you're wrong and don't know what you're talking about. Silverlooks lifted weights before he started on Drew Bayes program. "Ask Silverlooks, see what he says." He's not starting from scratch nor is he a mere rookie. He's maintaining what he'd already developed via weight training. And wrong regarding TUT. It is a combination of factors more complicated that just saying TUT is what makes a muscle grow. But if that is what you want to believe

Unless the previous posts get edited again, anyone can read what you and I wrote and make their own decision. I'm fine with that. Moving on now.
