Disclaimer: Just curious, not that I'll be of any help, but .....
What joints are affected by the hyper-mobility?
Which experience pain and when?
Do you think it may be "MD diagnosed" as "fibromyalgia"?
BTW, on the subject of the modern, for-profit, medical industry, I get it. I nearly died, but ended up figuring out and solving my own issues. I've already posted all of this plenty of times, so I'm not going into it again, but, yeah, I'm with you.
If you have hypermobility you have it everywhere.
It’s not just in the joints either. For instance, if you press on the sternum or ribs they will bend a bit more than they would when compared to a normal person.
Fibromyalgia is yet another title that has been thrown at me but again it’s just a title. In the end they know very little about it or even if it’s that at all.
I’ve researched it quite a bit and if anything I only came to the conclusion that this is yet another vague area used primarily to save face.
In recent years they have made some discoveries that essentially put a giant question mark on whether it’s even mental related.
Nerve endings become thinner and thinner until they split (much like hair) and those slowly die off for being too small to receive nourishment as other nerves grow in their place.
For some reason fibromyalgia patients feel the death of those nerve endings which causes them to feel obtuse pain throughout the body.
Whereas with a normal person pain receptors would shut down any pain sensation at the main bridges (primarily located in the stomach) and the brain will never receive those “interpretations” of pain – fibromyalgia patient will feel them all.
Since you asked I will share some of my experiences but understand I can’t go through all of them because I’ll need 500 pages to do that.
My problem isn’t so much about the science of medicine as much as it is human nature and modern society where one is put in a position where they must “prove” their professional existence.
You can’t go to a specialist and have them charge you an insane amount of money only to tell you that they have no idea how to help you.
They simply can’t do it not just because they need your money to pay the bills but also because if they continue to provide such “honest” answers the reality is they will get fired for being incompetent.
So what is left are vague – psychologically-oriented-“diagnosis”.
If you look through history it was always like that.
Before psychology it was religion where people were diagnosed with an evil spirit that needs to be cleansed, when in reality they just had a throat bug which made them cough... for instance.
In my humble opinion it’s exactly the same.
One day science will be advanced enough that so many of today’s “psychological” problems will be looked at just as oddly as confusing a throat bug for being possessed by an evil spirit that requires incantations to be released.
I also have a minor case of IBS and that too is related to having a “psychological problem” originating from a traumatic event.
The reality today is that that’s where they start from... that’s the problem.
Last year I got an insane eye problem and could barely open my eyes without feeling like they’re filled with dust.
When I went to the doctor the very first thing that came out of his mouth is that it’s probably psychological because I look “down”.
He then wanted me to take anti-depressants.
I wish I was joking but I’m not.
I told him that he is a moron that should be fired right to his face and explained that of course I’m feeling down – I haven’t been able to open my eyes in two months! Who wouldn’t be?
I went to see a different doctor who transferred me to an expert in the hospital.
Prior to seeing the expert you have to get checked by one of his assistants… he too said that it’s probably psychological.
Then the professor checked me and within a few seconds he said that my tear ducts are a little too small for someone my age and during summers when it’s not only hot but also the earth’s wind cycle changes and brings a lot of pollution my eyes simply can’t handle it because my eyes aren’t getting lubricated in sufficient speed.
Considering I have many allergies he explained my best options are using a strong anti-allergic drops and moving to an area that is less affected by direct winds from the ocean.
This to me is an excellent example of everything that’s wrong today.
A bunch of idiots claiming that something is psychological and want to give you antidepressants while an actual expert explains it very simply and scientifically without having to involve anyone’s psyche or emotional state.
