Look at this legs and calves from ballet:
So lots of sets and volume can work.

donovan5,
Thank you for answering my question. I might try this system, sometime. I think the Landowski method is more to my liking, so will probably try it first.
I have watched some of Drew Baye's videos and have seen some of the workout logs for Project Kratos online. I have never had much success with HIT training, but some of the ideas still intrigue me. One thing I liked in one of Drew's videos was the way he progressed exercises using technique and time (but stayed with the same exercise). I like this much better than my understanding of Convict Conditioning where you advance by leaving behind a form of exercise for a tougher version of it.
Well, thanks, again!

Yep my thinking is along those lines at the moment as well. One thing with Landowski ,he was partly inspired by the Bolton book, and doesn't just bang the reps out, but feels the contraction in each move

It’s pretty much same idea as put forth in Ultimate Pushups although the volume put forth there is high @ every hour of the day or 7 sets morning and night. 4 weeks. It was a grind and a commitment but it did make a difference in my arms and chest for sure. The last days were tough I was up to over 600 reps ( I did morning and night, feet elevated on desk, dipping between step stools). Took a big break afterwards. Much needed.

I have not tried the ultimate pushups book yet, I plan to one day but it's finding the time.
If I did use the book it would be the twice per day workout.

That’s what I chose to do Keith, because of work constraints. It’s a bit tougher (esp getting home sometimes late in the evening and still having to do the sets ugh) however in the end I was pleased.

Cheers.

It really wouldn’t change, except your first sets of the day will be considered your evening sets.
One session when you “get up” in the evening (warm up is very important esp the shoulders). You’ll have to figure out the right recovery time between sets. I remember on my high % days I’d have to get up earlier because I was doing more reps and recovery was longer. The next session when you get home before daytime “bed”. I would make sure to have a fueling snack before I got home, do my sets, eat a big dinner to fuel my next session when I woke up.

Hey thanks for the reply, it makes sense.
I would be okay to have some food through the night and on most morning's I would be able to have a nap.
What kind of results did you get?
Thanks for the reply.
Keith.

Sure no prob.. Honestly I felt jacked on the program because you’re pumped intensely in the AM and the PM. I also cut up a bit as I ate only to fuel my PUs efficiently. You have to be really focused. One co-worker commented how my arms looked a lot bigger. So I took that as a good sign. Some days were harder than others believe me, esp towards the end. 4 weeks is enough. In my opinion, it’s one of John most cohesive/effective works and I liked it. It includes a 3 stage sort of modified GUTS program (less sit-ups in the 3 minute span which was fine w me as I’m long limbed) at the end that I went into after resting for a couple weeks doing light stuff only. It is super hard, took me almost 8 weeks to get Level 1 done in time allowed. .

It sounds a good program, don't know if I will do the guts program after I do the push up program.
I think the book would have done better business for JP if he had brought it out earlier when he had bronze bow website. Now he won't bring out his books on Amazon, maybe he thinks that they hold secrets. They could have done a lot better business.
Of course now, that he's lost a lot of people on his website, go on it, it's dead and buried, don't know why he's keeping it open.
Do you think 4 weeks is enough or would you do it for longer.

The Bronze Bow Publishing website is still up and running and selling stuff. And remember, it costs $$$ money to put product on Amazon...retail on line...so it might be better cost vs revenue to sell it off of his website.

I remember JP saying that Amazon would only pay a third of the sold price on each book.
I was only on about the more people would see his products instead of the people on his website.
Bronze Bow is till up and running but no forums.
As everyone has said, when the forum was out it was a lot better, check there now, it's embarrassing the lack of people on there and hardly no one answering his threads.
It's like a person not knowing when to stop and they keep going becoming an embarrassment to themselves and the people around them.
Keith.
