Epigenetics, my man.
Love 'em as they're showing it has nothing to do with supplements, health "alternatives" like the frauds are pushing everywhere.
Occam nailed it centuries ago -- the simplest answer is almost always the best and even the "real" experts like Dr. Christopher Gardner at Stanford endorse this:

Let common sense be our guide....if it sounds too good to be true, it is !

Yep.
But you have the supplement sales frauds. The protein hucksters selling processed crap...we've never consumed concentrated whey (or casein), ever in our history until the last 50 years. And then we find out the un-listed chemicals used in the processing. Weider, Bill Phillips, all of the websites and multi-level marketing BS.
MCT oil. Another processed BS product from huckster Dave Asprey, who created the whole Bulletproof idiocracy and got wealthy via his cult of clowns following him. They buy his processed oil (which, btw, comes from regions where ecosystems are being wiped out to produce this shit), his collagen (more lies), his this his that. His magic goggles. Geezus.
Mark Sisson was a multi-millionaire from all of the stuff (junk) he was selling before he was bought out by a big conglomerate for $$$$. Now he's living on South Beach in an amazing apartment.
Even a few vegan and vegetarian MDs have gotten into it. Selling stem cell herbs and Ozempic-like veg extracts at $150/bottle.
Add the "industries" in the US that help push beef, dairy, eggs, pork -- a lot of these people are part of the revolving door between the big industries and government jobs "regulating" what we should really eat. Those same industries funding studies, allowing lies like "range free chicken" -- which is COMPLETE BS, steroid free chicken or beef, etc.
Rant over.
I crush weak minded yogis.

Caneguru He cuts down trees. He wears high heels, suspendies, and a bra?!

, So I take it You're not shooting for 100? I guess we have something in common.
billfish simply needs to have more Bushmills (or nookie) & sustain a happier life.
There's nothing wrong with maintaining yr car even if the speedometer is over 100k. The same applies to the human body. The whole idea of keeping fit is to keep from rusting too badly as one ages & keep a degree of independence. Jack LaLanne was a decent model. He died from pneumonia & not from his valve replacement as popularly thought. He died from respiratory failure while taking a nap after his morning workout. He also wore a bodysuit towards the end of his life. But he was spry & gave constant TV interviews right up to the last year if his life. Obviously, this was all due to environmental factors that Jack changed to his own benefit.
Personally, I think it all comes down to managing low grade inflammation & fibrinogen levels that increases with age. So, I want to minimize the damage impact. One of the best ways of managing both is exercise & fasting.
One of the longest live persons was a cuban immigrant who lived to be around 115 years. He talked about his tips on longevity (living life to the fullest was one) & he mentioned an item of interest that piqued my interest: he took an aspirin every day of his life. I have issues with aspirin. So, I take Ivermectin instead to blunt any low grade inflammation.
As far as diet goes, it's nothing exceptional. I eat a slow carb diet & balance my macros & essential mineral intake. I do 36h fasts 3x per week on my recovery/rest days. I use Ivermectin on my refeeds only.

I have plenty of both thanks, mox.....I stay fit and eat fairly healthy and I am happy. I have the true key to happiness, a loving wife and a good life. My oldest brother is in his early 90s....that's not for me. What's the point of living to 100 besides ego ? We get X number of heartbeats....I'm 73 and want to hit the magic number while still active and healthy, not when it starts to go south. This "health and fitness" thing gets a little crazy....Exercise and eat to live, not live to exercise and eat. I'm going for a nice walk and exercise in my garage later....and then some wine with my wife on the deck My "philosophy".....live your life, don't spend your life poring over "alternative" health nonsense and studies and chasing fitness and health....live it !
Accomplishments are great. Whether by erudition, an awarded Kiwanis Club plaque, the applause of yr peers or crossing the finish line 1st....it's all good. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose. I tend to get caught up in the details since I still have lingering injuries from my car accident. I'm just the same as anyone else: I do the best I can where I am at with what I have.
