This guy is doing pretty good...wish I could understand Chinese: The guy pushing should push upwards to uproot him, the group are pushing into the back leg. I did a thing in Aikido where you have someone push on my chest (not a strike) and I would have my finger tips on his elbows with a light up lift, he couldn't move me. Then there's the ol' unbendable arm thing, I hold my arm out at shoulders length and have someone press on my bicep and holding my wrist try to bend my arm up, if I am relaxed he can't bend it. We did a similar thing in Russian Systema. It also helps to redirect any force on the horizontal plane slighty downwards into your legs.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I posted that video because of the guy who pushes trucks, not because of the tai chi guy...don't get me wrong, I respect tai chi guy also, but this thread we're just talking about brute strength, external power.

He did it through dynamic tension and coincidentally tested his strength pulling a train three times a week

Post by Got Milk? on Dec 28, 2022 12:21:01 GMT
I am drinking more milk these days, it has to be the lactose free kind, and I use Fairlife when I can find it because it has half the carbs and twice the protein. Adding more milk to my diet has another hidden benefit, it's nearly 90% water, which means by default I am having more water than I would normally consume in a day.

Maybe I missed it, but my Atlas course (purchased in 1980) did not mention the milk diet, although I did read about it in later years. My course also said to "Allow at least five or six hours to elapse between your meals.", which to me means you only should eat 3 or so meals per day, contrary to what JeP said in his PYTP that Atlas recommended one "...eat a lot and often...". I don't believe 'Jackson' ever had the course, but only took info from 'Uncle Wally'. The Atlas diet also counters Gironda's advice of not eating protein and carbs together. People need to experiment for themselves. Some burn carbs better than fat and vice versa. BTW, the Atlas course is in this forums training manuals on page 2. It's also nice to see the bowl of pears behind Atlas on his desk.

The milk diet is in my British vintage course in lesson 2, don't know the age of the course but is the folded type written with blue leather grain backing.

Sounds like a nicely done course. Mine came for the NY office and on plain white stock, but I know they had offices all over the world and the course was translated into many languages.

I also have the NY office plain white stock and not folded but has signatures in blue after each lesson. Each look slightly different and not like they was done with the same pen.
Also have the 2000 binder and the box set 10 steps to a better body. The binder has no spot colour like the PDF red so it looks muddy with what would be red is black.

I would love to see an Atlas movie. Chronicle the rise of this guy, how he created this mail order empire and became an international icon. Delve into the personal lives, etc. If I can't get that, I want a comedy about Count Dante starring Will Ferrell.

I did like the exercises and understand why most of the courses back then were formatted that way. But my opinion there were better ways to format these exercises. The 3 meals a day thing reminds me of the NoS Diet which I use from time to time. Oh and it would have been nice if he didn't pose in his tighty leopards, .
