I'm not a fan of the royals myself, I don't believe people should be able to be born and be worshiped without earning the love of the people through good deeds etc.
However I was deeply saddened by the news because it is a part of our culture through and through and The Queen wasn't all that bad, from what we know she never abused her power and strived for a more peaceful world unlike some of her predecessors.
To give you an example of how ingrained in our culture the queen was I will use schools, My Grandad was 7 years old when The Queen had her coronation, every school in the country dedicated a week or so to celebrations, When my mum was at school they celebrated every year with outdoor events, writing letters to the Queen and special foods etc during her Jubilees and birthdays, When I was at school we did the same and just recently we had a week of picnics and storytelling at my kids schools for the platinum Jubilee, days were given off of work to celebrate etc.
Our post boxes will have to be changed, our cash will be changed, our police officers uniforms will have to change, the police cars will have to change, the helicopters, royal navy vessels, Army uniforms, RAF uniforms and jets etc, passports, stamps and pretty much everything will have to change.
Like I said I'm not a fan of the royal hierarchy but I appreciate that everything that has ever helped me or my family has been in her name even if it isn't her directly helping, she was like the piece of furniture in the room that held everything together, sure you could get rid of it and redecorate and live just fine but it won't be the same old room.
R.I.P. to The Queen
I'm not a fan of Charles and I think the Royal family will now be on thin ice and I think now is the time to create a Britain that is more in tune with the century we live.

Give Charles a chance--he's waited long enough.

Years ago I wrongly assumed that Whiffet was the Queen of England...

Be careful when verbally criticizing Charles . He'll hear you with his big ears . An Ancestry.com gene test revealed that King Chuck is the biological father of Alfred E. Neuman.

And to think Bernie Sanders "only" made it into his 40's before he had to work a job.
