Cool!
I'm a Senshido/military combatives full instructor, but the older I become, the more I return to Russian Systema. I practiced it for five years, but stopped it because I deemed it not effective. It took Martin Wheeler, an extremely talented Systema instructor based in L.A., Ca., to open my eyes.
I'm also very convinced that the typical Systema breathing techniques are chi-based.
My martial arts bio (with overlaps) 12 years Kyokushin karate 4 years Wing Tsun kung fu 2 years Western boxing and wrestling 3 years Philippino boxing 5 years Systema (and counting) 13 years Senshido/military combatives

I know how to scrap with many things that would be appropriate for the encounter. I certainly know the legalities of use of force in the USA. If America's martial art (gunfighting) was included, I'd certainly say yes.

Only hope is a larger caliber, higher capacity long range gun and to shoot fitst

I started off with Muay thai and from 17 up until I was 26 and competed a few times , for the past 6 years I've trained in Taiho Jutsu which is used by the Japanese police forces and people in the security field. My personal training is always based on self defense for the street and not fancy Van Damme moves , when I'm training on the heavy bag or shadow boxing i only throw a 4 combo max and I try my best to perfect them with the intention of ending the fight ASAP if I ever needed to defend myself.

Never seen a solo pad drill before, do you feel like you can move properly when you do it? That elbow looks great.

Here's how I train for self defense by myself at home Too complicated for me. I just attach a tennis ball to a band wrapped about my head & whack off on it.
